What to do if you find your soil is harden and difficult for the root to grow? Dig a big deep space depends on what you want to plant, dump in dry wood and branches, burn it and while it is burning hot, cover the burning wood with soil to let it smolder. The soil will become loose by the heat generated within. The remaining wood charcoal is also good for the soil and plants.

Some easy way to DIY natural pesticides which is harmless to humans, very effective and cheap. If the pests are just at the outbreak stage, then the healing effect is very effective. The use of natural pesticides is the most environmentally friendly and safe method.

1. Smash 20-30 grams of garlic cloves into mud. Add 10 kg of water to stir, and spray the filtrate, which has a good control effect on aphids and spider mites.

2. Take 2 ~ 3 kg of fresh green onions and smash it into mud, add 15 ~ 17 kg of water, and spray the extracted solution to prevent aphids and mollusk pests.

3. Take 20 grams of fresh onion stems, mash them with 1 ~ 1.5 kg of water, filter them after 24 hours, and spray the plants with the filtrate, which has a good control effect on aphids and red spiders.

4. Add 1 kg of fresh cucumber vines, add a little water to smash and filter out the residue, and spray with the controlled juice plus 3 to 5 times the water to prevent and treat cabbage worms and stem borers.

5. Take the fresh tomato leaves and smash them into a pulp, add 2 ~ 3 times of water, soak for 5 ~ 6 hours, and spray the clear liquid to prevent the red spider.

6. Take 50 grams of fresh peppers, add 30 to 35 times the water, heat for half an hour, and spray the filtrate, which can effectively prevent pests such as aphids, ground tigers, and red spiders.

7. Take 1 kg of fresh leek, smash it into a paste, add 400 ~ 500 grams of water to soak, and spray the filtrate to kill aphids.

8. Pick fresh and juicy bitter gourd leaves, add a small amount of water to smash them, take the filtrate, add 1 kg of lime water per kg of filtrate, reconcile it evenly, and use it to irrigate the slender roots of plants to prevent mole crickets.

9. Mash the pumpkin leaves with a small amount of water to extract the original juice. Dilute with two parts of raw juice and three parts of water, then add a small amount of soapy liquid, mix well and spray, to kill aphids more than 90%.

10. Mash fresh loofah (horn gourd), add 20 times the water and stir to take the filtrate spray, which can be used to control cabbage pests, aphids, red spider and cabbage borer pests.

Before spraying plants with your homemade pesticides, this is what you should do:

1. Test a small part of a plant to see if the plant is sensitive to the ingredients (burnt leaves).

2. Always wear gloves and masks when handling chili powder and onions.

3. Avoid spraying in windy weather, spraying in the afternoon and evening has the best effect.

4. Soap water should be free of Clorox.

5. The back of the leaf should be sprayed evenly, and the hidden position of the pest should be sprayed.

It needs patience. Its effect will not be immediate, and it needs to be sprayed for 3 to 5 times. The best effect is to spray water on the leaves.

One of the easier way to repel insect pests in farm is by using smoke because there are many source that can be easily obtained.

The pile of smoke stacks that we prepare must ensure that the smoke to be large/ thick/ long lasting and the smoke to stay low and heavy.

To prepare the smoke/ fire pile, put coconut shell/ hardwood (high carbon material) at the bottom and then use fresh grass/ empty fruit bunch(oil palm) with high water content. This will create thick and heavy smoke.

It is best to smoke and repel insects on sunny days (do it often) so that insects do not like to come to your farm. If you smoke at 5pm-6pm, it is best to add some sulfur (1 part) plus dry brown earth (10 part). Applied on the empty fruit bunch or on the fresh grass pile.

Besides sulfur, you can also use dried chili, lemongrass leaves, pandan leaves, etc. Use leaf with heavy flavor.

Why use smoke?

In the nature world, smoke means fire. In an environment with smoke and fire, insects will sense danger and leave the place. The strong taste will prevent the small insects from communicating.
