Clean air is a human right. Making sure we have clean air is in line with the UN's SDG 3.

We didn't ask for this transboundary haze.

I can do with less VO2 Max and smoke in my lungs right now, thank you very much.

Making sure that our skies aren't full of haze is part of the UN's SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, because we shouldn't have to breathe in this, seriously.

Blue skies and the scenery is a big reason why I ride motorcycles.

Every time I jump onto a bike, and go out riding, whether it's in the city or out in the country, I'm greeted by a multitude of sights.

That's one of the big draws of riding over driving. Pros and cons, of course.

Malaysia is a beautiful country. But when the haze is here, everything turns to gray, and riding no longer becomes enjoyable.

Malaysia is still going through haze. And it's really bad in Sarawak right now.

Just because Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya is okay now doesn't mean the problem is over.

What will you do to help our country have cleaner, blue skies again?

Clean, blue skies are part of the UN's SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being — because clean air is essential for healthy communities.

Malaysians deserve clean air.

The haze is not normal, and we need real action against Malaysians who start (are the cause, or are in some way responsible or are involved) the transboundary haze.

Ensuring clean air is part of the UN's SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being as well as SDG 13: Climate Action, while stronger action against those responsible supports SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.

How to run to Bangsar from Pantai Dalam:

Jalan Pantai Dalam -> Jalan Kubur -> Lorong 17/112e -> Jalan 4/112e -> Jalan Pantai Murni -> Jalan Pantai Permai -> Jalan Kerinchi -> The Horizon -> BTC to Bangsar South Link Bridge -> Jalan Pantai Baharu -> Jalan Bangsar

This is the second part of my 20km run from PJ to KL. It's about 5.5km.

This section uses the safest way to cross the Federal Highway, which is the link to Kerinchi LRT from The Horizon business area.

Why did I make this? Because I believe cities should be made for people, not cars/motorbikes/whatever.

Cities should be safe and sustainable for everyone. This would be in line with the UN's SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities.

This is the beginning of my 20km route to Kuala Lumpur from Petaling Jaya:

SEA Park -> Millennium Square -> Asia Jaya -> PJ State -> Jalan Selangor --> Jalan Tinggi 6/12 -> Jalan Templer -> Jalan Gasing -> Jalan 5/46 -> Jalan Pantai Dalam

This is the first leg (no pun intended) of my run from PJ to KL (20km), which I personally call "From the SEA to the Beach."

The length is about 7.5km, depending on what road you take.

Despite what I call it, it's the safest route I could think of that would take me to Kuala Lumpur by foot from PJ (that doesn't get me through Universiti Malaya).

But if you want to use it as a template to get you to Kuala Lumpur by foot, or just for a cross-PJ run, feel free to do so.

I ran 20km to Kuala Lumpur from Petaling Jaya.

Why? Because I (Patrick Lee) believe cities should be made for people, not cars/motorbikes/whatever.

Also, fuel is getting expensive and I'm really sick of traffic jams.

And getting packed like sardines in the LRT isn't fun.

Would you run to KL? Or will you at least call for our government to build a better city?

This is the second time I ran from Petaling Jaya to Kuala Lumpur. The first time was via Universiti Malaya, and that was 18km long.

Why is it so hard to cross the road in Kuala Lumpur, or even the rest of the country?

A lot of transportation issues could be solved if Malaysia had much better or pedestrian-friendlier walking infrastructure.

Do you think Kuala Lumpur needs better sidewalks, road crossings and other facilities? Let me know in the comments.

Making sure that a city has good walking infrastructure is a move in line with the UN's Sustainable Development Goal 11 ( ). Kuala Lumpur can certainly do better.
