When Aleza asked me to do her maternity shoot, I was like, “Yes, of course!”—but I asked for something new and different.
I’ve known her since she was 12 and knew she’d be the perfect person to try something a little less traditional with.

She sent me pictures of what she had in mind, and I was, to say the least, ecstatic. I’ve been wanting to do a bo***ir maternity shoot for so long! Seeing that we had the exact same vision was thrilling.

I absolutely love how this photoshoot turned out—I think it’s stunning!

Should rain-weather photo sessions be a thing?!

So this has been a dream of mine for 2 years! I have been planning a rain photoshoot in my head. Wanting to do it when the first rain started pouring, as I visioned this greyish rain background before everything turned green. Then we hit a drought and never got the opportunity last year.

Never the less I have struggled finding these dome umbrellas with a white trim and at the end settled for blue, because I knew I had to keep it at hand for whenever it started raining.

So after we were blessed with a lot of rain this weekend as well as a follow up, I saw my chance to get the shot.

Admitted this was not easy - the camera had to stay dry so I worked with an umbrella in the one hand protecting the camera from the rain, making it impossible to adjust light settings, focus and zoom and also capturing photos in movement. But I am blown away with how it turned out! If you have taken your time to read every word, please comment if you think rain-sessions should be a thing or not? ☔️☔️
