Agriculture Production Supervisor - Ariamsvlei

Qualifications
· Must have at least 4 years previous experience in fresh fruit farming
· Experience in fertilization and pollination
· Valid drivers license
· Diploma / Degree in Horticulture / Agriculture
· IPM practitioner advantageous.
· Basis & Facts certificate.
· Standards certificates – GlobalGap, BRCGS, SMETA is advantageous.

1. Primary Duties
1.1. Daily
· Supervise staff – Junior managers & Team leaders.
· Monitor crop operations - agronomic practices.
· Assign and demonstrate duties to workers. i.e tasks
· Visit all orchards and assess labour / workers proportionately.
· Analyze daily labour requirements.
· Ensure daily operational agronomic targets are met.
1.2 Weekly
· Analyze weekly labor costs as per budget.
· Monitor crop pests, diseases & irrigation and suggest recommendations.
· Ensure inputs stock levels are sufficient.
· Prepare weekly plans – labour – agronomic activities as assign by Operations Manager.
· Collaborate with other managers on repairs, crop requirements and assessments.
· Collate all data and review as per standards requirements.
1.3 Monthly
· Ensure all Standards documents, and data are up to date.
· Plan training on standards - Health & Safety, pesticides handling etc. as requested by management.
· Review agronomic practices and recommendations.
· Assist senior management on good agricultural practices – SOPs, IPM, ICM and future plans
Ad hoc:
· Attend weekly production meetings’ and or trainings.
· Collaborate with other standards officials.
