INVITING ALL GRAIN PRODUCERS!

As we gear up for the 2026/27 Grain Marketing Season, the Agro-Marketing and Trade Agency (AMTA) is inviting all grain producers with surplus grain to get their grain ready for offtake.

📅 From today, 9 September 2026, farmers are encouraged to visit their nearest AMTA Silo Centre across the country to obtain more information on the grain procurement exercise.

LOCAL SOLUTIONS: The government has allocated N$40 million to purchase locally produced grain from millers struggling to find markets for their produce following what Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare described as a bumper harvest.

Ngurare announced the allocation, saying the funds would be channelled through the Agro-Marketing and Trade Agency (AMTA) by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform.

He said the grain purchases would support the government’s drought relief programme as Namibia prepares for an anticipated El Niño weather phenomenon.
