A bright spot. With one catch... Across 38 African countries, more than half of people surveyed by Afrobarometer say it's hard to get an ID, see a doctor or get help from police.
Namibia is bucking that trend – one of only six nations where fewer than half struggle with all three: IDs: 38% (avg: 50%) | Medical care: 40% (avg: 51%) | Police assistance: 44% (avg: 52%)
The catch? Getting police help is getting harder. Namibia's difficulty rating jumped +21 points – one of the four steepest rises on the continent, alongside Guinea (+23), Eswatini (+22), and South Africa (+22).

On the other hand, only 48% of Namibian households are connected to the national electric grid, below the 38-country average of 60%, placing Namibia among the 14 countries where fewer than half of citizens have grid connections.
