One thing I've learnt about brand design is that good systems are not always built in one project. They're shaped over dozens of iterations. Throughout July, I worked on evolving Xpend design system, by refining what already existed to make it feel more intentional.

One of the biggest changes was introducing bordered, a direction inspired by the familiar wallet interface. It seemed like a small design decision at first, but it gave the visuals a new look, and the team loved it. I also reduced the heavy reliance on Xpend's signature blue by pairing it more intentionally with the rest of the brand palette, which resulted in a better balance, stronger contrast, and more flexibility.

It's always satisfying to see how a few thoughtful changes can transform an entire design system. This month, we keep creating, refining, and exploring new visual ideas.

visual explorations for Xpend between July and October 2025.

‎At the time, the challenge was figuring out how to visually communicate a crypto product that didn’t behave like a typical crypto platform. Xpend was built around conversational transactions and direct crypto spending through WhatsApp, so the creative direction needed to feel simple, fast, and human rather than technical or exchange-focused.
