History was made earlier today, at the Ake Palace Pavilion, Abeokuta, as the gubernatorial candidate of the APC in thw forthcoming 2027 elections, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola YAYI CON FCA empowered 3,000 market women and men from Ogun Central with ₦75,000 grants each under the 5th Edition of the Market Women/Men Support Fund.
It was an atmosphere of joy and gratitude as traders across Abeokuta North, South, Odeda, Ewekoro, Ifo and Obafemi-Owode received alerts live at the venue. This is Phase 1 - Ogun East and Ogun West editions are coming next.
The event was graced by distinguished leaders and stakeholders including representative of Governor Dapo Abiodun, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, the SSG and the deputy governor, Engr. Noimot Salako Oyedele, Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, Chairman of National Productivity Centre, Dr. Baffa Babba Dan-Agundi, who was ably represented, Iyaloja General of Ogun State, Chief Yemisi Abass, market leaders and party faithful across the 6 LGAs.
This gesture from Senator Yayi is a continuation of a promise made on Feb 6, 2023. From ₦25k to 5,000 traders in 2023, to ₦50k to 5,000 traders in Ogun West in 2024, to ₦75k to 5,000 traders across 3 districts in April 2025, and now ₦75k to 3,000 traders in Ogun Central alone. These are grants, not loans, are in partnership with the National Productivity Centre and in alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.
