A lot of digital marketing practices such as copywriting, and content writing usually aim to get a particular audience to take a particular action.

While this may be true, the fact remains that you can never predict the exact action your audience is gonna take.

Of course, you can't but here is what makes the big difference.

THE QUICKEST WAY TO GO BROKE IS TO LOSE YOUR CUSTOMERS

Ever since I started online marketing, my goal has been to get my audience to stay with me rather than my competitors.

I spent a lot of time understanding how the customer journey really works and till now, I am still afraid of the last stage.

That is the RETENTION STAGE

Here is why.

Let's assume you spent a lot of dollars on Ad to acquire your customers and fortunately for you, they took the action you wanted them to take.

Now, you don't want to lose those customers right?

You want to retain them so they come back to you whenever they need you.

You want to create a long-lasting relationship...

You want to get them to stick along a lot longer and spend note money with you

Not only those, perhaps they refer their friends to you for another transaction.

YOU WANT TO RETAIN THEM

This is the retention stage.

This is where the actual work begins and if you miss this stage, you might need to start the process again.

If you miss this stage, you might need to revisit your budget and spend those dollars again.

To make this stage go smoothly just as in other stages, provide your customers the best service that would make them stay with you.

These people are a group of people who are constantly changing and your research should be critical to better understand these people.

Before you market any product, the first thing you should understand is your audience.

Who are you Marketing to?

What are their pains?

What are their desires?

What are their needs?

What do they experience?

Listen, you have a lot to understand concerning this concept,

you have to do whatever it takes to put yourself into the shoes of your prospects(perhaps walk some miles in there too).

Without them, you don't exist

Without them, you can't pay your bills

Without them, your business cannot succeed

I mean without your audience you cannot get a dime into your bank account

So, what do you do?

Make a lot of research to get to know your audience then you'd need just a little effort to get them to opt-in for your offer.

You may end up calculating a loss if your focus is only on the customer's first purchase. But should you?

Of course, you shouldn't.

You should focus more on the customer's lifetime value rather than his first purchase.

When you create an offer, your goal is to get it accepted by your audience so they take the necessary action you want them to take.

But what if it is rejected?

Yes! It is normal.

There are many factors which makes your offer acceptable and if any of those factors is missing your offer may suffer a rejection..

Now, that is very sad, right?

A more saddening scenario is when your customers expect you to create bad offers. This will not only make you lose your customer's interest but will ruin your brand reputation.
