APC HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES PRIMARY ELECTIONS: A CONGRATULATORY AND GOODWILL MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF THE CITYBOY MOVEMENT

On behalf of the leadership and membership of the CityBoy Movement, I warmly congratulate all candidates of the All Progressives Congress who emerged victorious in the recently concluded House of Representatives primary elections across the country.

Your emergence is not only a reflection of the confidence reposed in you by party members and delegates. It is also a call to deeper responsibility, greater humility, disciplined service and renewed commitment to the people.

As candidates of our great party, you now carry more than personal ambition. You carry the hopes of communities, the expectations of constituents and the responsibility of advancing the progressive ideals of the APC under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

President Tinubu once reminded the nation that “those who cannot endure and accept the pain of defeat in elections do not deserve the joy of victory when it is their turn to triumph.” That statement remains a powerful lesson for this moment. It speaks both to winners and to those who did not emerge. It reminds us that democracy is a contest of ideas, not a declaration of war, and that every outcome must strengthen the party rather than weaken the bonds that brought us together.

To our victorious candidates, this is the moment to reach out, reconcile and unite. Victory in a primary election should not be worn as a badge of arrogance. It should be carried as a burden of service. Those who contested against you are not enemies. They are fellow progressives, party builders and stakeholders in the larger project of electoral victory and national renewal.

I also specially acknowledge and commend all aspirants who participated in the primaries but did not emerge victorious. Your decision to step forward and offer yourselves for service remains an act of courage, patriotism and faith in our democratic process. In politics, every contest is part of a longer journey. No serious aspiration is wasted. No sincere contribution is forgotten. No setback should be mistaken for the end of relevance.

History is generous with examples of men and women who passed through temporary disappointment before arriving at higher responsibility. What matters now is not bitterness, withdrawal or division. What matters now is maturity, loyalty, patience and continued commitment to the party.

This is therefore a time for unity, reconciliation and collective purpose. Primary elections are designed to produce candidates, not permanent divisions. The APC remains one political family, bound by shared ideals, common convictions and a collective commitment to a stronger, more secure and more prosperous Nigeria.

I respectfully urge all party faithful, aspirants, candidates, supporters and stakeholders to close ranks and work together in harmony toward victory for all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.

The CityBoy Movement remains firmly committed to promoting peace, unity, youth participation, grassroots mobilisation, democratic engagement and progressive leadership across Nigeria.

Together, with discipline, maturity and unity of purpose, we shall continue to support the Renewed Hope vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and contribute meaningfully to the task of building a Nigeria that works for all.

PRESIDENT TINUBU ARRIVES IN NAIROBI FOR AFRICA FORWARD SUMMIT*

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi, Kenya, in the early hours of Monday to participate in the highly anticipated Africa Forward Summit.

The President’s aircraft touched down at approximately 00:18 a.m. local time.

President Tinubu was received on arrival by Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi, the High Commissioner of Kenya in Nigeria, Isaac Parashina, alongside senior Kenyan government officials and members of Nigeria’s diplomatic mission in Kenya.

The Africa/France Summit will be co-hosted by Williams Ruto of Kenya and French President Emmanuel Macron.

President Tinubu’s participation in the summit underscores Nigeria’s enduring commitment to advancing African unity, deepening regional economic cooperation, and fostering strategic partnerships to accelerate sustainable development across the continent.

The Africa Forward Summit brings together Heads of State, policymakers, business leaders, development partners, and key stakeholders from across Africa and beyond to deliberate on innovative pathways for economic transformation, trade expansion, digital innovation, infrastructure development, climate resilience, and collective prosperity for the continent.

During the summit, President Tinubu is expected to engage in high-level bilateral and multilateral discussions to strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic and economic relations with fellow African nations, while reaffirming Nigeria’s leadership role in shaping the continent’s future.

The President’s attendance reflects the administration’s steadfast dedication to promoting Africa-driven solutions to continental challenges and advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda through strategic international engagement.

The President is accompanied on the trip by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Ojukwu, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Sen. Abubakar Kyari, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas Lawal, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Jumoke Oduwole and Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani.

Others are the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Council (NIPCO), the Minister of State designate for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, the Director General of the National Council on Climate Change (NCCC), Mrs Omotenioye Majekodunmi, and the Nigerian Ambassador to France, Amb.
