This is a personal post, but if you’re an entrepreneur you may need to hear it.
Often times we get so wrapped up in our business that we’ve let everything go.
Last week I looked in the mirror and realized I hadn’t cut my hair in Months.
I also hadn’t taken care of my face, and had acne for the first time in years.
The house was a mess, and personal things were piling up they just didn’t get attended to.
Every time I walked upstairs to work, I would look at a bare wall that I have been intending on remodeling for over a year.
Every time I looked at it it gave me this feeling of procrastination. And I had to stare at that wall every time I sat down to work.
The thing is, so many scientific studies have proven that your environment influences your performance.
So I finally said screw it, hired an artist to come in and design something, custom build it, and it got done within a week.
It cost me $14,000, and I’m sure if I would’ve done it myself it would’ve been much less, but here’s the thing…
How much money has looking at that unfinished wall every day lost me just poisoning my mindset throughout the day while I work?
Now when I walk upstairs, I have a sense of pride when I sit down. If you don’t think that will affect your performance, you’re crazy.
The moral of the story is, don’t forget to take care of yourself and your environment.
There is a direct ROI on investing in how you feel.
