Blaze sensed it the instant she entered the hall—the unmistakable feeling that she was his mate. With a fierce growl, he acknowledged the connection, and his inner wolf, Wade, eagerly sought to take charge.
He had the urge to possess and brand her without delay, yet he managed to restrain his impulses and tame his inner wolf.
Despite his wolf being ecstatic, Blaze wasn't thrilled, as his mate was just a human. He had always envisioned having a formidable Luna who could hold her own in combat, not someone who was vulnerable and in need of constant rescue.
Blaze considered her unsuitable to be his Luna and Queen; therefore, he planned to reject her and sever the mate bond before the party concluded. He observed a gentleman approaching her and requesting a dance, to which she obliged.
