Subject: Humble Request for Amendment of Wedding Requirements and Reduction of Bride Price in Zaar Chiefdom

Your Royal Majesty,

I am writing to express my profound respect and loyalty to your esteemed office as the traditional ruler of Zaar Chiefdom.

First and foremost, I would like to express my sincere appreciation for your visionary leadership, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to preserving our rich cultural heritage. As a proud son of Zaar land, I am grateful for the concerted efforts made to uphold our traditions and customs.

Your Royal Majesty, I humbly wish to bring to your attention some of the items required during traditional wedding preparations in our chiefdom. Currently, among the items requested are 5–6 jerricans of cooking oil, 5 bags of salt, and 2–3 cartons of seasoning cubes (Maggi). Upon observation, most of these items are not locally produced within Zaar Chiefdom.

In my humble opinion, it would be beneficial to review these requirements by reducing the quantity of cooking oil to three jerricans and introducing a traditional Zaar attire or other locally made cultural items. This would help promote our cultural identity, support local craftsmanship, and preserve our heritage for future generations.

Furthermore, Your Royal Majesty, I respectfully appeal for a review and possible reduction of the bride price within our chiefdom. Many young men and women remain unmarried due to the high financial burden associated with marriage requirements. A reduction would make marriage more accessible to our youths, strengthen family values, and encourage more lawful and respectable unions within our society.

I make these suggestions with deep respect and solely in the interest of the growth, unity, and progress of Zaar Chiefdom.

May God Almighty continue to bless Your Royal Majesty with good health, wisdom, and a long reign.

A CALL FOR UNITY AMONG THE ZAAR (SAYAWA) PEOPLE

My dear brothers and sisters,

At a time like this, we must remind ourselves of one important truth: we are one people, with one history, one identity, and one future.

The admiration and loyalty many have for General Ishaku Komo cannot be denied. He has earned respect, and his impact will not be forgotten. At the same time, we must also recognize and respect General Yake as the present Gung Zaar, who now carries the responsibility of leadership.

This is not a time for division. It is not a time to fight one another. Because in truth, when Zaar people fight Zaar people, we all lose.

Let us understand this clearly: Leadership may change, but our unity must never change.

We must not allow emotions to destroy what took generations to build. Our elders struggled for identity, for recognition, and for the chiefdom we have today. If we allow division to grow, we risk weakening that very foundation.

To the supporters of General Ishaku Komo — your love and loyalty are understood and respected. But let that loyalty be shown with wisdom, not conflict.

To the supporters of General Yake — leadership is not only about authority, but about bringing everyone together, including those who feel hurt or left out.

Now is the time for healing. Now is the time to embrace one another. Now is the time to move forward as one.

Let us speak with respect. Let us act with maturity. Let us remember who we are.

We are Zaar. We are one.

If we truly want progress, peace, and a stronger chiefdom, then unity is not an option — it is a responsibility.

May peace guide us, and may wisdom lead us.
