First Lady and Al-Muhibbah Foundation Launch Medical Outreach, Empowerment Programme in Kirfi
The Wife of the Bauchi State Governor and Founder of the Al-Muhibbah Foundation, Her Excellency Hajiya Dr. Aisha Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has reaffirmed that education remains one of the strongest tools for community development as she flagged off a community empowerment and medical outreach programme in Kirfi Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
The outreach programme, organised by the Al-Muhibbah Foundation, featured the commissioning of boreholes, enrolment of new learners under the âNot Too Late to Learnâ adult literacy programme, women and youth empowerment initiatives, as well as WASH awareness campaigns across Jojotau, Karfin Raddi, Dandinga, and Kumbi communities in Badara District.
Speaking during the event, the First Lady urged parents and guardians to prioritise the education of their children, especially the girl-child, stressing that both Islamic and Western education are essential for societal growth and development.
She noted that meaningful development can only be achieved through education, peace, unity, and active community participation. Her Excellency also called on traditional rulers and parents to remain committed to the welfare and proper upbringing of their families.
Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed disclosed that about 200 women have been enrolled into the adult literacy programme, where they will receive both Islamic and Western education to empower them academically and socially.
Earlier, the Programme Manager of Al-Muhibbah Foundation, Ali Duguri, stated that the intervention was made possible through the support of donors and development partners. He added that the foundation, established in 2010, continues to sustain humanitarian and community development initiatives across the state.
