First Lady and Al-Muhibbah Foundation Launch Medical Outreach, Empowerment Programme in Kirfi

The Wife of the Bauchi State Governor and Founder of the Al-Muhibbah Foundation, Her Excellency Hajiya Dr. Aisha Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has reaffirmed that education remains one of the strongest tools for community development as she flagged off a community empowerment and medical outreach programme in Kirfi Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

The outreach programme, organised by the Al-Muhibbah Foundation, featured the commissioning of boreholes, enrolment of new learners under the “Not Too Late to Learn” adult literacy programme, women and youth empowerment initiatives, as well as WASH awareness campaigns across Jojotau, Karfin Raddi, Dandinga, and Kumbi communities in Badara District.

Speaking during the event, the First Lady urged parents and guardians to prioritise the education of their children, especially the girl-child, stressing that both Islamic and Western education are essential for societal growth and development.

She noted that meaningful development can only be achieved through education, peace, unity, and active community participation. Her Excellency also called on traditional rulers and parents to remain committed to the welfare and proper upbringing of their families.

Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed disclosed that about 200 women have been enrolled into the adult literacy programme, where they will receive both Islamic and Western education to empower them academically and socially.

Earlier, the Programme Manager of Al-Muhibbah Foundation, Ali Duguri, stated that the intervention was made possible through the support of donors and development partners. He added that the foundation, established in 2010, continues to sustain humanitarian and community development initiatives across the state.

The visit was aimed at expressing their heartfelt gratitude to the First Lady for her unwavering support, encouragement, and confidence in their leadership capacity following their emergence as the party’s candidates for the 2027 gubernatorial election in Bauchi State.

Bauchi First Lady Commends Al-Irfan Integrated Academy During Educational Visit

The First Lady of Bauchi State, Her Excellency Hajiya (Dr). Aisha Bala Mohammed, has reaffirmed her commitment to promoting quality education and moral upbringing for children during a visit to Al-Irfan Integrated Academy, Bauchi.

The First Lady was warmly received by the Proprietor of the Academy, Imam Junaidu Abubakar Bauchi, Chairman Board of Trustees Dr. Mujitaba Abdulkadir, alongside teachers and management staff of the school.

While interacting with pupils and students, Her Excellency encouraged them to remain focused, disciplined, and dedicated to their studies. She advised them to uphold good character and continue being worthy ambassadors of the academy.

Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed commended the management of the school for their vision and commitment towards combining Western and Islamic education for the benefit of young learners. She described the initiative as a positive contribution to educational development in Bauchi State and beyond, urging other individuals and organisations to emulate such efforts.

Speaking during the visit, the Chairman Board of Trustees, Dr. Mujitaba Abdulkadir, disclosed that the academy, established barely a year ago, currently has over 150 pupils and students from within and outside Nigeria. He added that the institution offers Western education, Islamic studies, and Quranic memorisation.

The visit also featured impressive talent displays by pupils and students, which drew admiration from the First Lady and other guests. Her Excellency later toured the facilities of the academy and expressed satisfaction with the standard and learning environment of the school.

Bauchi First Lady Commends Media, Stakeholders in Fight Against GBV

The Wife of the Bauchi State Governor and Chairperson of the State Action Committee on Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Her Excellency Hajiya (Dr.) Aisha Bala Mohammed, has commended the media and other stakeholders for their continued support in combating gender-based violence in the state.

She made the commendation during a media chat organized by the Bauchi State Action Committee on Gender-Based Violence at the Government House, Bauchi.

The First Lady explained that the engagement was aimed at informing the public about the committee’s activities and achievements in addressing GBV cases across the state, while also promoting justice and support for survivors.

Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed described the media as a key partner in public enlightenment and advocacy, noting that journalists have continued to play an important role in exposing societal challenges and protecting vulnerable groups.

She also highlighted some of the challenges faced by the committee, particularly delays in securing justice due to constitutional and legal procedures within the judicial system.

The First Lady stressed the need for stronger community participation in addressing GBV, calling on families, traditional rulers, community leaders, civil society organizations, and the media to support the fight against the menace.

Earlier, the Special Adviser to Governor Bala Mohammed on Gender-Based Violence, Sha’awanatu Yusuf, disclosed that the committee had recorded 218 cases since its inauguration in 2020, with several cases successfully prosecuted in court.

Bauchi First Lady Inspects Home Garden, Encourages Agricultural Self-Reliance

The First Lady of Bauchi State, Her Excellency Amb. Dr. Aishatu Bala Mohammed, today paid a side visit to her personal garden at her residence, where she spent time inspecting the progress of various crops cultivated within the garden.

During the visit, Her Excellency expressed satisfaction with the growth and condition of the farm produce, noting the importance of agriculture as a vital tool for food security, economic empowerment, and self-reliance among families and communities.

Speaking during the inspection, the First Lady encouraged women and youths to embrace home gardening and small-scale farming, stressing that agriculture remains one of the most dependable sources of livelihood and sustainability. She emphasized that engaging in farming activities, regardless of scale, can contribute immensely to household income and improved nutrition.
