Peter Ayeni and I don't agree on so many things but we can agree on doing this amazing project together, and damn it turned out great.

Being someone whose leadership skills and progress inspire me, his move to build an African-facing combo of IMDb and RottenTomatoes is just stellar; and I am proud to work in this capacity for this revolutionary project at this beta Stage.

Cooking these super-spicy layouts for PartyJollof Africa's Company Profile was really amazing. The best part of the project was also the toughest one for me, and that was using the brand colours in an exciting way.

I will update this post with the download link once it's ready.

LOGOS & EGOS

I recently updated my Logofolio with some recent jobs I did. At the same time, I removed some logos that are falling off my list of favourite logos. It is such a struggle to decide what I get to keep and what to take down. But in the end, I am glad I could finally do this refresh.

3D Modelling is the future!

So for a while in my design career path, I have been on a pause. Learning all I can to advance. So on this project, I decided to go out of my comfort zone and tried my 3D Modelling skill on a real project.

The liberty you get with this new skill set is amazing, all you have to do is think it and you create it. No need to go round the internet scouting for photos and vectors.

In fact, the best part is when you realize your knowledge on 2D pixel and vector editing softwares aren't wasted. For example,

- Most of the objects here were first created as splines in Adobe Illustrator and extruded in Cinema 4D.
- And the final render (sorry, I can't share this one because the work is personal to the client) was composed in Adobe Photoshop.

This new skill is fun. And you can sure expect more from me in this zone.

MAKE IT WORK
Certificate Design Project
Client: Odun Creamz Confectionery

Graphic Designers aren't genies: in as much as experience and good briefings can help you get really close to what a client wants; sometimes, it doesn't just cut it. So here are some ways I make it work:

1. Quality Samples
I offer to produce at least two samples when I know my client is picky or I am not definite on what they would like. Two samples were produced in this project.

2. Cut the Attachment
It's fine to have a favourite sample or spend more time creating one. But I avoid getting emotionally attached to any particular sample. That way, I can easily work with anyone my client chooses.

3. Listen and Actually Listen
I try to be open to constructive feedbacks on why exactly any of my samples didn't make the cut. In this case, Sample B was selected but my client wanted her own products on each of the certificates.

4. Make it work
The selected sample was not going to work with the photos of my clients. So, I had to find a different way to implement my client's desire while keeping the original idea of the sample at hand. And that led us to the final result.

Nevertheless, sometimes, it just doesn’t work even after going through all these steps. Don’t’ force it, and do not let that put you down. Keep creating and looking for better ways to provide lasting solutions.
