LISTEN UP 👂 YOUNG PEOPLE!
Although JAMB might have experienced massive failure this year due to systemic irregularities, I see beyond the setback. Congratulations to all candidates on their efforts, regardless of the outcome.
To the affected candidates, listen up! Life doesn't stop with the JAMB examination; rather, it's just a stepping stone into further knowledge.
Here's a to-do list before your next JAMB examination:
1. Don't wait idly; I repeat, "Don't wait idly." This season presents another opportunity to achieve something while preparing for the next one. Get started with a skill. Learn a practical skill during this period; locate a workshop or skill center to empower yourself.
2. Use this time to reflect on and research your goals and purpose deeply. Understand what you truly want in life, your potential, natural talents, and abilities, and how to channel them properly.
3. Seek career consultation and counseling. I strongly advise you to do so because this is your prime stage in life. If you miss this opportunity now, life might not offer it again. Go out, ask questions, and learn about societal, academic, and industry trends. Understand what works in today's competitive world. Ask about the relevance of the course you want to study.
4. If you lack sponsorship, consider taking a menial job and look into the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN). "A degree is a degree"; it's the same qualification. Don't engage in unnecessary suffering. Save yourself some peace of mind.
5. Learn a trade; the education system has changed drastically. Acquire practical skills; don't waste money on theoretical courses with no real-life value."
