I stayed all night crying, I felt life has gone out of me even in life. This was it, This was how well I could take. I have suffered enough torture, I have taken more than I could chew. I could not sleep, oh! What a woman I am, I have never cheated life, but I wondered why life has decided to cheat on me. I was never bad, I was even a virgin when love caught up with me. The next day, after having sleepless night, I woke up early to prepare for work, I applied enough foundation to cover up the shameful bruises on my face, even though, the made sure I applied it on my face, the more tears cleaned it up, I couldn't just stop thinking, than I remembered the word of a friend, she said, for you to be strong, you just have to cry it out, scream if you can, shout if you can, hit anything, break anything. I carried the letter up and walked into the room close to Paul's room at the hotel where we lodged for the Conference meeting, looking so confused, I never noticed it wasnt my room but Anni's. I sat down and took a look at the letter
I was confused, I couldnt think straight. Okay he wants me to stop working, but they pay him only 120 thousand naira in his government work, and how can 120 thousand feed my 3kids and also send them to school?. I opened the letter once more and all I could see was tears dripping down my chics, I did not notice the presence of Anni, she stood there for almost an hour steering at me, till my tears flowed like a stream, then she had to interfer "Li what is it?" she asked me, I couldnt just control my tears, I tried to talk but couldnt "Li calm down and talk to me please" Anni said again, I threw the letter on her as I faced down the duveh and continued in my tears "what! is this man stupid or what? what is the meaning of this rubbish?" Anni said and tried to comfort me, I was just so speechless, I felt like killing myself but what choice do I have but to cry, because I cannot definitely kill myself and leave my 3kids "God what type of man will ask his wife not to.....O God" Anni said and laid on the bed I was able to hold myself together "I will confront Mike, I will confront him and ask him why he has decided to seek for divorce after 20 years of marriage all because I refuse to quit my job. I will not seat and watch another woman take my home from me, it is not possible" I stood up and tried to pick up my bag "Calm down, I know you are so angry right now, but calm down so that you will not do what you will regrete later please" Anni said to me.

I took permission from the conference director and went home to meet Mike, I had to travel all night till I got home. Mike was in the sitting room taking water melon and orange, he smiled wickedly when I came in "Mike what is wrong with you, why have you decided to frustrate my life? I said immediately I came in
"Li you are a married woman, you leave this house by 6 AM and come back by 11 Pm all in the name of one useless job? Mike said and continued with his water melon "what the...........
