Kelechukwu Chukwuebuka Eze KC Eze Ministries has been actively involved in youth ministry for nearly two decades; teaching at seminars, camp meetings, weekly fellowship, blogs, and social media.

He believes that it is the will of God for everyone He created to succeed within the bounds of His plan and will for them. Sadly, he observed that "despite its enduring appeal, success remains elusive for many, and the path to achieving it is often fraught with obstacles and challenges."

In his most recent book, Designed to Succeed, he offers insights, strategies, and inspiration for those seeking to become successful in life.

Drawing on the wisdom of experts and real-life examples, this book directly and indirectly touches on various aspects of success, including personal growth, professional development, financial prosperity, and social impact.

It's a 200+ page book that's soon to go to press and we need your help making a choice on the cover for the book.

Which cover do you consider more suitable for the book? A or B?

Take that First Step this Week

As we step into a new week, let's call to mind the words of the ancient Chinese Philosopher, Lao Tzu, who rightly observed that “the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”

Therefore, let's put an end to procrastination and get started with our big goals by taking the first step to start and continue on the pursuit we have suspended.

Your goal of being a published author won't happen in one day; take the first step by deciding what to write about and crafting an outline.

It's a good thing that you desire massive awareness for your brand but that desire won't become a reality in one day. Take a stop by creating a free Google profile for your business.

You may need time to raise funds for it; but you can take the first step by securing a domain name with your business name or booking  a clearity session with a web design agency.

You want to sell out your products or get overbooked for your services, take the first step by designing a marketing strategy or setting up a sales funnel.

By all means, don't stay in one spot dreaming or remain knocked down by setbacks. Take that step today.

We can help you take that step today. Since 2014 when Fratee Media came to life, we have published 14+books, designed 30+ websites and served 13+ brands across Africa, North America and Europe.

For your next steps, we will be glad to support you with our publishing, web design and marketing communications expertise when you reach out to us on WhatsApp: 08070701380 or email: [email protected]

Yesterday, we dispatched the printed copies of the book, The Girdle. It's a 376-page book that chronicles the history of a people and insight on charting a course for their progress, printed in paperback and hardback.

It's the fourth book we published this last quarter of 2023.😋

Earlier, we had published and printed, Rudiments of English Composition, Nurse this Child for Me & The Christian Youth.

The least of the profits from publishing is the money. The real satisfaction comes in knowing that we are instrumental to the birth of a book, especially one that's first of its kind and will be referenced for generations to come.

Our latest book project is a 312-page that's written to address the issue of essay and letter writing for secondary school students once and for all.

We need your input on the cover to use for the book.

Which would you rather choose?

From his brief, the author wants his cover bright coloured; white specifically.

We have narrowed down our interpretation to these two.

We are at the prepress stage of the book and he wants to know which of these covers you would rush of you saw them in a bookshelf. Please make your choice.

Many times, first-time authors are so worried about how voluminous their book should be to be big enough that they overload their book with irrelevant details.

That should not be the case when you understand that, when a reader picks up a book, his primary concern is not the volumes they will read; but what they will get out of the book.

So, instead of worrying about voluminous content, focus on useful content. Your reader will be happier if you just go straight to the point and give them substance rather than fluff.

If you are wondering whether your book content is good enough, ask yourself: will the content lead the reader to the transformation that I promised in my title, subtitle and blurb?

What’s involved in Publishing My Book?
===
Recently, we got enquiries from two clients that want us to publish their books. As with many other prospects and customers, after stating that they want to publish a book, the next thing they ask is: how much?

I intend to take time and give an exhaustive discussion on this subject matter, but for now, it will suffice to state that to come up with the right price for your book, YOU should be CLEAR about the following:

Your Book Word Count
------

Every page of your book has a word count and to determine the pages, you need to know how many number of words you have in your book. You can find out that by looking at the down left corner of your MS word or just copy your book content and paste on any online word counters software.

Preferred Book Size
-------

This is the final size for your book and it matters determining the number of pages for your book. An A4 sized book will take more words than A5. You can find out this by taking a ruler (abi rule) and measuring the length and width of your book.

When you tell your publisher this, he can give you a reasonably accurate quote for publishing your book as an eBook. However, if your book will be printed, you need to go further in telling him...

The type of paper you want to use for your inside and cover, Kind of lamination for your book, Your choice binding style, Pages with special colours or paper.

Paper Choice
-------
In printing a book, one of the basic consideration is the paper to use. You need to decide the paper colour and thickness. To choose the right paper to use for your book printing, the colour and the thickness are of primary interest. You can use as low as 55grams and as high as 80 grams for your book thickness.

You are at liberty to make a choice of paper to use but the factors to consider are volume of your book, cost and your taste. But I STRONGLY advise against using 55grams for a standard book. It’s too light that if someone tries to underline a point with a pen, it will puncture the paper.

Your paper colour can be cream or white. Cream colour is what we often call ‘foreign print’ because most imported books are printed in cream colour. It costs more, but is better for packaging purpose. A caveat: the cream colour does NOT confer any quality on a shallow book! So, don’t kill yourself to get cream colour book interior. Na packaging!

Just by the way, as at the time of writing this post, all Pastor Bankie’s books are in white print and “By Faith Acquire Life” and “Choices Key to Destiny” are his books that have shaped by life as a teenager. So, it’s not about the colour of your paper primary; it’s about the value your content delivers!

Next thing you should consider is the paper for your cover. The paper used for book cover is called card paper and you can use as low as 250grams. The choice of size you use for your book depends largely on the volume of your book, the size and your taste. Before we give you a quote, we discuss the best option that will serve you well.

Lamination for Your Book
-----------

Your book can still be published and released without laminating the cover, but lamination it makes for longevity. Lamination protects your book from the elements and water and can even improve its beauty. So, by all means, I implore you to laminate your book cover.

There are two types of lamination you can use for your book cover—gloss lamination and mart lamination. Gloss is the shiny lamination while mart is the non-shinny one. Mart is classier and more expensive than glossy. Unless it’s school magazine or secondary school book, I don’t recommend glossy lamination. Give your book class with mart lamination!

Binding
---------

When books are printed, they are in a group of 4-32 pages per paper. Binding is all about joining the different groups of your pages to the cover as one bundle. When a book is poorly bound, it will look bad and tear within a short time.

There are different forms of binding options for your book such as Saddle Stitching (which involves folding the papers and stitching them together); Perfect Binding (involves using gum or thread to hold a book paper together and gunning them to the cover); or Case Binding (best used for hardcover book binding) Spiral or Wire binding (where plastic spiral or iron is wound round a compiled paper).

The choice of the binding styles to use depends on your book, target and budget. There is no bad and good binding style; it’s when we discuss your book project that we can determine a suitable one.

Special Pages
--------
If your book has special pages, that’s you need to print some pages coloured or with special paper, you need to let your printer or publisher know. Coloured printing costs more money than black and white and printing on art paper, like you find on many biographies and story books, costs more money than bond paper (which is the normal paper used in book printing.

What I have shared so far is what’s involved in determining the cost of your book publishing project. That’s not all that is involved. In my next post, I will explain all that in details.

For now, here is a good news for you…

At we have published 8 books for our clients and 3 are in print. In the course of working with these clients, we have developed a system for helping writers, bloggers and preachers turn their messages and stories into a book.

So, if your book is at idea stage, we can work with you to put in on paper, if it's written, we edit and proofread to make your language and message sparkle.

Understand Domain & Hosting
--------
Nearly every time I have to design websites for clients, I have a discussion on the right domain name and hosting account for them to use.

Recently, someone asked me the right place to buy domain a name.

After guiding her, I decided that I should teach on this in detail so I won't have type out answers every time clients ask me.

Creating time to write this na wahala, so I will just be writing in small bits daily until I exhaust what I think anyone that wants a website should know about domain and hosting.

For today, I want to explain domain and hosting.

~

Your website domain name is like the address people use to find your shop location.

Your hosting is like the shop where your products are stored.

Choosing the right domain name makes it easy for your target website visitors to remember and type clearly without errors when they want to search for you.

The right domain can equally help you rank high on search engine..

Choosing the right hosting account is getting the one that will be enough to host your file and manage the activities without exceeding the bandwidth.

For most start up businesses, I recommend the basic hosting plan so that you don't buy space you don't need when you can easily increase the space as the need arises.

Next, I will teach you how to arrive at the right domain name for your website.

Who Wan Read Your Book Sef?

If you desire to be an author, have a ready manuscript, writing a book at present or have sent your book to your publisher, please hold on.

I have a question for you before you make the next move—who wan read your book sef?

I am not talking down on you or your book, I want to help you with insight that could help you succeed with your book.

I have published at least seven of my own books and in the course of my work at Fratee Media, we have published at least 8 books for our clients which I supervised.

One of the things I have observed is that many writers don’t think about who will read their books until it’s late.

The result is that they write books nobody wants to read, their marketing efforts are vague instead of being focused, and they end up spending money to publish books that hardly get sold.

I don’t want that for you and that’s why on Publishing RoadMap this week, I want to help you with the most important question you should ask yourself as an aspiring author.
