Your day of visitation is around the corner

‭‭Then the wine steward said to the king, “I must confess today that I have done wrong. A young Hebrew was there with us, a slave of the captain of the guard. We told him our dreams, and he interpreted them for us. The king sent for Joseph, and he was immediately brought from the prison. After he had shaved and changed his clothes, he came into the king's presence. (Gen 41:9, 12, 14 ‬GNT)‬‬‬‬

There are several instances and instructions urging us to keep doing whatever right thing it is that we are doing. One of such is Galatians 6:9 that says “And let us not get tired of doing what is right, for after a while we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t get discouraged and give up”. Here, “after a while” is the time it takes or will take before the harvest can take place. We are to continue doing the good that we know how to do without wavering no matter how long the duration may be.

Another scripture in the same vein is Ecclesiastes 11:3 that says “If the clouds are full of rain, They empty themselves upon the earth”. Like the situation in Galatians, while the clouds are being filled, it will appear as if nothing significance is happening as it may appear to be for you right now. And this may be in spite of all the good like the labor of love, giving of your seed, time, self, and such other things that you are doing at the moment. Don’t stop! Continue to fill your cloud with your services to God and humanity. Your reward will surely manifest and faster than you think.

Remember also, the events that led to Mordecai’s lifting and promotion? He helped saved the king but God kept him from being rewarded until when the dividend will bring maximum yield and impact, very much the same with the story of Joseph. There is a day destined for your reward to come into your hands. That’s your day of visitation; the day of coronation, when you will be remembered for the labor of love that you have offered in the past like Joseph, like Mordecai, David, and a host of others that got visited after waited patiently, dutifully and faithfully on their beat.

If that big break hasn’t come yet, it is not that it will not come or that you have been forgotten. Rather, it is that, what you have planted is being nurtured to maturity so that you can have a maximum yield at the time of harvest. Understand always that, God is never ever unjust to forget the labor of your love. The same way He said, He has not asked that we serve Him in vain. Your visitation will surely come in due season. Wait expectantly for it. And while at it, be diligent to stay faithful on your beat, giving it your all in whatever that your hands find you to do.

Remember the concluding part of Romans 13:11, “now is our salvation nearer than when we believed”. Like the coming of the Lord is much nearer than when you believe, so also, the reward of your faith, hope and trust in the Lord including your faithful stewardship is much, much nearer than when you first start to hope and look forward for that answer, that solution, that breakthrough and that positive turnaround in your life.

Therefore, faint not because, your due season is by the corner, very much nearer and closer than you think or imagine. May you have an end of the year pleasant surprise Jesus’ name, Amen

Have a great time in His presence and shalom.

Key to victory is reliance on God

And so the people of Judah were victorious over Israel, because they relied on the Lord, the God of their ancestors (2 Chronicles 13:18 GNT)

Pointedly the Lord told His people, “This is what the LORD says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the LORD” (Jeremiah 17:5). The reason is that, we are to depend on God for all that we do.

When we rely on God, we can be sure of His guidance as He enjoins and promised saying “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:4-6)

What’s more, God’s arm is arm of power, might and strength. When deplored, victory is guaranteed. For, “behold, the Lord GOD comes with might, and his arm rules for him; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him. He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young (Isaiah 40:10–11, ESV). That is what is in store for us when we depend on Him.

Relying and trusting the Lord brings His power to the scene to enable us accomplish whatever task that faces us or sail through the storms and battles that we face like Abijah and the rest of the armies of Judah were helped to defeat Jeroboam.

Here is how it happened “The Judeans gave a loud shout, and led by Abijah, they attacked; God defeated Jeroboam and the Israelite army. The Israelites fled from the Judeans, and God let the Judeans overpower them. Abijah and his army dealt the Israelites a crushing defeat—half a million of Israel's best soldiers were killed” (2 Chronicles 13:15‭-‬17 GNT).‬‬

Whenever we put God in charge, relying on His power and seeks His help, like God defeated Jeroboam and army, handing them a crushing defeat, God can do much more for you when you call on His name. The good thing is that He is willing and ready to help us as He beckons, “call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor Me.” (psalm 50:15).

As you call in God’s name today, may He answer you and grant you total and complete victory over your adversaries now and always in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Walking in irreversible conclusion 5

Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth. So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit (John 19:29‭-‬30 NKJV)‬

The last irreversible conclusion which I want to dwell on as I bring this series to a close is the final statement of Christ on the cross before He gave up His spirit and went on a journey to the dark abyss where He stripped the devil of his Powers and made a public show of him before resurrecting on the 3rd day

The Greek word for “it is finished” (tetelestai) according to Dr. Ray Pitchchard of Christianity.com is “to bring to an end, to complete, to accomplish." Christ triumphantly accomplished every single thing that He came to the world to do. Absolutely, there is nothing the devil can do in your life without your permission because he was stripped of that right

The redemption, the freedom, the ability to live over sin, the play tuff of devil, the power to succeed in life and become everything God desires of you, the privilege to come into His presence unashamedly because the gulf separating you and Him has been bridged, the right to affectionately called Him Daddy, and many more other privileges has been granted to you

Yes, it is an irreversible conclusion that you must know and walk in. You are blessed, you are the beloved of God in Christ, you are a candidate of favor and grace with mercy always available to qualify you. His all surpassing Peace is yours to receive and experience

It is finished and that is why God can save completely all who come to Him through Christ. He did not just wrought the victory and went back to heaven, no! He is right there making intercession for you and I. The host of heaven are cheering and egging you on. Lift up your hand in joyful celebration and thanksgiving for what He has done for you.

And for you yet to make Him your Lord and savior, why don’t you use this day to make amend and reconcile with Him . Doing that will not only launch you into His joy, peace and blessedness; but will cause an ecstatic joy in heaven as heaven rejoices for a single soul that repent and accept Him

That sour drink and all other bitter experiences that He went through on the way to the cross were all done so that you can partake of His goodness. May every blessing that the finished work holds for you, speedily manifest in your life this season.

Today is truly a Good Friday because, it was today that all expressly got unhindered access to God with the splitting of the curtain covering the holy of holies, His presence into two. Enter boldly into His presence, you will be shown the path of life, partake of His fullness of joy and other inexhaustible pleasures. So, happy Good Friday. Shalom.

Walking in irreversible conclusion 2

For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: but if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses (Matthew 6:14‭-‬15 KJV)‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

The Hausas has this saying that “hakuri magani zaman duniya” (forgiveness is recipe to peaceful or harmonious coexistence in the world)

God understands this much more than any one else. He understand that, in the fallen world, man, full of imperfection will do things that can hurt his fellow human and will have to let go so that evil is not entrenched since paying evil for evil is perpetuating more evil.

In the sermon on the mount being the foundational teaching on what constitute the fulcrum of the kingdom of God, Jesus, without mincing words informed the listeners that we don’t have an option in forgiving one another.

Remember the parable of that unforgiven servant who was forgiven for what he owed his master but was unable to forgive his fellow servant who owed him far, far less than what he forgiven from by his master.

It took the Begotten Son of God to pay the supreme price, not just dying, but dying the most horrifying death to facilitate our forgiveness; something the world is remembering this week. Thus, our lack of willingness to forgive our fellow human beings is a total lack of appreciation for what God has done for us

Listen, God is very aware that we can be recalcitrant in offering forgivingness to the offending party, that’s why He placed the onus of forgiveness on you that has been offended. You are forgiving that man or woman not necessarily because he or she has repented, but because, that is what God demands and requires of you to do

He cherished our forgiving ourselves more than the offering and services that we give to Him. “This is how I want you to conduct yourself in these matters. If you enter your place of worship and, about to make an offering, you suddenly remember a grudge a friend has against you, abandon your offering, leave immediately, go to this friend and make things right. Then and only then, come back and work things out with God (Matthew 5:23‭-‬24 MSG)‬

Seek out that person that has offended you and forgive him or her so that you can have an hindered communion and fellowship with God as God desires it more that any sacrifice you can offer.

Don’t let this week pass you by without reconciling with whoever it is that needs your forgiveness. Have a great day and shalom

Tribute to Motherhood

Sarah said, “God has brought me laughter, and everyone who hears about this will laugh with me.” (Genesis 21:6)

As we mark and celebrate Motherhood institution today, let pay tribute to the Mothers in our lives

We celebrate all the mothers who like Sarah trusted her husband enough to leave a thriving enterprise and the comfort of friends, extended families and the comfort of a settled life to embark on a journey to unsettled and unknown destination, not even disclosed to Abraham, her husband at the start of the journey

We pay homage to Women like Ruth that were able to see a great future and clung to her Mother in law, refusing all entreaties to return to her people even after the seemingly hopeless future painted by mother in law to give birth to the father of a great king David, from whom, the King and the savior of the world came. For all the mothers that sticks with family through thick and thin, we hail you

We say a big thank you to all the women like Mary that kept themselves undefiled and who trust God enough to allow God use them to bring great men like Christ to this earth

We celebrate all the mothers who are instrumental to the raising of godly offspring that God has used to propagate His purpose and plan from generation to generation

We give special recognition this day to the mothers for enduring the inconveniences associated with pregnancies, the birth pang, the nursing nuisances, the challenges associated with raising and bringing up children in a way that is pleasing to the Lord.

A special dedication to my mother and the mother of my children for all the investments they have made in my life and those of my children respectively. You can as well, extend same to your mother and wife, the mother of your children.

May all the waiting mothers yet to carry their babies on their laps be visited this day of honoring the mothers, so that according to the season of life, you will have a song of Thanksgiving like Sarah, Hannah, Rachel, and Elizabeth

To all the Mothers, I pray this day that God will visit you in most specific and spectacular way, bringing the joy and the reward of your wombs to reality. Your children shall bring joy and gladness to you as people rejoice with you for their success and victory in life

Happy Mother’s Day and congrats.

The Reciprocity of our Responsibility to each other

So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband (Ephesians 5:33 NLT)

If the man is to love his wife as he loves himself, then the wife is to respect her husband as she respects herself. It’s something akin to the golden rule of doing unto others as you would love them do unto you

The reciprocity and responsibility expressed here is thus, the same that needed to exist at the different levels of relationships and particularly, amongst all members of the brotherhood (between you and I and any other person) as well.

Since, we can't give what we don't have, it then means, we must work on ourselves to fully have that which we are required to give to others - learning how to love and respect ourselves respectively.

Thank God, we have His word that provides the leeway for us to develop and build that which is needed of us; the strength of Christ that enables us to do and become all that is required of us and the Holy Spirit, our Helper and Advocate, leading, guiding and prompting us to build the required ability in us

What’s more, ever since God consented to be our ever present Help, He is ever busy, always at work in us causing us to be willing and do that which pleases Him (Philippians 2:13).

Thus, we can develop and build in ourselves whatever it is that is required of us, if we individually commit and submit ourselves to the Divinity to do their work in us

The goal is that, we must seek to please God in our union and relationship with each other. Since that is the objective, we must do every thing expected of us to achieve that objective.

Loving another person as oneself and respecting someone else as ourselves is a task that is humanly impossible. That’s why we need the help of God with whom nothing is impossible to do

The cordiality and harmony together with other attendant benefits like pleasing God that is bound to exist between us requires that, we individually commit to doing what is needed and expected of us

Yes. We must make every effort to be found living peaceful lives that are pure and blameless in his sight (2 Peter 3:14). That is how we can please God with our lives even as we await the full unfolding of the glorious hope that we eagerly look forward to – doing what we’d like found doing when the full time comes.

Receive grace to live a fruitful and fulfilling life. Remain blessed and shalom

Follow His footprints

“I’ve loved you the way my Father has loved me. Make yourselves at home in my love. If you keep my commands, you’ll remain intimately at home in my love. That’s what I’ve done—kept my Father’s commands and made myself at home in his love (John 15:9‭-‬10 MSG)‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

In Hebrews 12:2, we are told to look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith because, He set the best practices that we can follow to victory

That means, He set an example, a pattern and a template with which we are to follow in living a life pleasing to God.

Elsewhere He enjoins that we come away with Him to learn the unforced rhythm of grace from Him (Matt 11:28-29 MSG)

Here, He showed another way we must follow, something we must do in order to get to the summit of the relationship desired of us by our heavenly Father

That path is us making our dwelling in His Love. He did not invite us to do that as a theoretical exercise, but a practical and experiential exercise, something He has done Himself and is bearing testimony to

The way for us to remain in His love is by keeping (obeying and doing, carrying out) His commands. Our willingness and obedience must be in place before we can eat the goods of the land; always remember that.

This is something the early disciple bore testimony to as well, when they conclusively informed us that the commands of God are not burdensome (1 John 5:3, Philippian 3:1, 2 Peter 1:12).

Indeed, God had given us all that is required and needed to live this life in godliness and pleasing to God. It is by taking heed to His word; something that the Psalmist testified of thus: “The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; Moreover by them Your servant is warned, and in keeping them there is great reward'' (Psalm 19:7-11)

Stay hooked to His word, you will be safe. Follow Christ’s footprints, you won’t be miss -led. The word will build you up and give you the due portion that is available to all the saints of the Lord

The Fallout of Partnership of Willingness and Obedience

If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land (Isaiah 1:19 NKJV).

In the bible parlance, willingness is the “quality or state of being willing; free choice or consent of the will; freedom from reluctance; readiness of the mind to do or forbear”

It is said to be the soul of obedience. While our lack of willingness to obey hinder and arm-string God’s hand, our willingness checkmates Satan’s opposition (Isaiah 59:1-2, 2 Corinthians 10;6).

The journey to obedience therefore begins first from our willingness to obey God. Daniel for instance, purpose which is the backbone of willingness, in his heart not to “defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself” (Daniel 1:8)

This is said of Moses as well, “By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin” (Hebrew 12:25)

Willingness is the critical ingredient that enables us to promptly and wholeheartedly obey God. For an unwilling heart will find it difficult to obey God.

Obedience which works together with willingness to bring about the positive and fruitful manifestation of expectation(s) (from biblical perspective) can simply be said to be “hearing the word of God and acting on it; aligning our will to God’s will”.

Like faith, it propels and spur God to action once it surfaces on the scene, because, it is a proof that we trust and believe in what God’s word says God is and can do.

Obedience is our proof that we truly love God. This much, Jesus affirmed when He said “Loving me empowers you to obey my commands” (John 14:15 TPT). And when that is in place, hear what Jesus said will happen

“.. Whoever passionately loves me will be passionately loved by my Father. And I will passionately love him in return and will reveal myself to him.” (John 14:21 TPT).

As demonstrated repeatedly through the scriptures, there will always be provision at the altar of obedience. Therefore, make up your mind, to set your face like a flint to do the will of God, obeying and following His instructions and directives given to you by the Lord.

It's in hearing and obeying that blessings which is the goods of the land comes. For “those who set their gaze deeply into the perfecting law of liberty are fascinated by and respond to the truth they hear and are strengthened by it—they experience God’s blessing in all that they do!” (James 1:25 TPT).

Fortunately, Christ’s strength which resides in the Helper, the Holy Spirit that He sent to help us resides in us and is at work in us both to will and do His good pleasure (Philippians 2:13).

We need to yield to the leading, guidance and enablement of the Helper to help us learn obedience through willingness of submission to God’s will that captures the good plans that He has for us.

In summary, the fallout of partnership of willingness and obedience is that blessings untold, abounds to us when the two are tacitly at work in us

May we eat the goods (blessings) of the land this week beginning from this day as we take heed to the Lord’s counsel, instructions and directives

Have a blessed and fruitful day. Shalom

The Endlessness of Love

Love never stops loving. It extends beyond the gift of prophecy, which eventually fades away. It is more enduring than tongues, which will one day fall silent. Love remains long after words of knowledge are forgotten (1 Corinthians 13:8 TPT)

God is love and there will never be a time that He will cease to be God neither will there ever be a time when God will die; so Love can not end neither can it stop loving.

I remember a story about a man who sought to rescue an tangled cat in a web-lock. He tried repeatedly, about 3 or 4 times to release the cat from the entanglement before he succeeded. And in each of the attempt, the cat keep scratching him.

After freeing the cat from the entrapment, a man standing-by watching the rescue mission asked the man why he did not abandon or gave up on the rescue mission; since the cat kept scratching him.

The Rescuer's response was that as it is the nature of cats to scratch, so also it is the nature of man to rescue

In a same vein, it is the nature of God to keep loving irrespective of man’s proclivity and disposition to sin, hurting God, over and over again. That’s how come love is eternal, unending and ceaseless.

Irrespective of man's rebellion and frailty, God keeps loving him because for Him not to love, it will be Him denying Himself. Just as He is faithful even when we are faithless because He will not deny Himself, God cannot stop loving. Yes! Love will forever keep on loving as God will forever be God – loving eternally

We have to be ever grateful for such a stubborn love that is never exhausting and untiring. It also means that we can hold our heads high knowing that even if no man loves us, God Almighty, the maker of the universe loves us perpetually.

Thus, right at this moment, why don’t you lift up your voice to express your appreciation and thanksgiving to Him for not only love unendingly, but deeply and passionately.

As you join the community of saints across the globe to worship the ever faithful and ever loving God, may your heart be enveloped and saturated with fragrance of God’s love with all it attendant blessings and privileges

Have a glorious day and shalom

It’s a Month of Alignment (2)

Jesus said, “I am the Bread of Life. The person who aligns with me hungers no more and thirsts no more, ever (John 6:35 MSG)

Talking about alignment of our ways, will and plans with the Lord is essential because, it is how we are able to know His mind and His workings that we can be effective and result oriented

It is a prerequisite to knowing what we want and thus appropriately ask aright from Him who beckons on us to call Him because He us more ready to answer us

The conversation between Jesus and the mother of Zebedee’s children, John and James reinforce this matter

Listen to the Passion Translation of it in Matthew 20:21-22. It started by Jesus asking her what it is that she want. Upon presentation of her request, Jesus response was this “Jesus replied, “You don’t know what you are asking”.

This more than anything, necessitate our doing the counsel and instruction let down in Romans 12:2, “And not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God”.

That ‘and’ that starts the verse means there was something that needs to be done before what us recommended in verse two can be operative and functional. It is in us being living sacrifices;

Here is how the Message version puts it “So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him” (Romans 12:1 (MSG).

We need to understand that, what counts as success before God is us being able to discover the purpose of His Will concerning our lives and then fulfilling it

To avoid delay of answers or non-positive response to our prayers, we need to know what God wants of us and then seek for His grace which is His strength to help us achieve it

The process starts with us aligning our thoughts, plans, mind, ways and ideas that constitute our will into His. It is in acquainting ourselves with Him that we come into shalom peace of His where nothing is missing or broken in our lives

I pray that we find the strength to go all out, not minding the cost, after the vision that heaven has craved out for our lives like Paul expressed before King Agrippa in Acts 26.:19.

You shall live a life of purpose full of impact to the glory and honor of the Lord God. Amen.

Have blessed, fruitful and fulfilling day. Shalom.

Stay committed and Connected to the Giver

And so, King Agrippa, I obeyed that vision from heaven.” (Acts 26:19)

Somebody puts it this way, "Waiting for a vision that “tarries” is the true test of our faithfulness to God". That is why we are pointedly told and reminded by Prophet Habakkuk that the vision is for an appointed time for which we must wait for.

We are already about to exit the first month of this year which we started out with a lot of vim, energy and zest about the limitless opportunities and great height we hope to attain this year.

Just as the fire in the temple must be kept burning on the altar continuously and never go out (Leviticus 6:13), our zeal and thirst for God including our hope and trust in His promises and plans should be kept aglow.

We are to continuously fan the ambers of our expectations to flame by heeding what the Corinthian Church was told to do. We must be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that our labor is not in vain in the Lord (I Corinthians 15:58).

The Living Bible translation says “So, my dear brothers, since future victory is sure, be strong and steady, always abounding in the Lord’s work, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever wasted...”. The future victory which is the ultimate purpose for which the vision is given is surely sure and will definitely come to pass.

Water your waiting and expectation by paying attention and given attendance to the reading of the word, exhortation, doctrine, meditation, giving ourselves wholly to these things the same way God committed and has devoted Himself to us

Listen, if the vision is from God, it must be done in God own time and way. So we just must wait on God to bring it into being. Obey the vision and never ever cast away your confidence that has a great reward by waiting on the One that has given it to you.

Take comfort or solace in the knowledge that the Giver of the vision is the one who is at work in you both to WILL and DO his good pleasure. He will surely bring the promise(s) that He hath made to you to pass.

As we move from one month to another, make up your mind to be fervent increasingly in season and out of season. Stay alert and expectedly in place of confident expectation until your change, victory or desire sees the light of the day.

You shall experience the tangible proofs of God’s faithfulness and goodness in your life and family this year in Jesus’ name, Amen

Have a great day and shalom.

The Dynamics of kingdom leadership recruitment

Though his ministry follows mine, I’m not even worthy to be his slave and untie the straps of his sandal” (John 1:27 NLT).

God does not chose leaders based on the age attained in life but spiritual maturity which is an out put of the person's heart

A cursory look at the recruitment will further reveal this fact. Starting from the selection of Jacob over Esau. Jacob who is the younger one by the virtue of his coming after Esau was the one selected to continue the Abrahamic covenant.

The Children of Jacob were 12 and Joseph was the 11th Child, second to the last, yet, he was the one picked by God to preserve the race

Moses was a junior to Mariam and Aaron ditto Joshua to several other men who were there to lead the children of Israel from bo***ge to freedom and inheritance of the promise land. Yet, it was these two that were used to bring the nation of Israel to the promise land.

What about David. He was the last child. As a matter of fact, nobody reckoned with Him, not even his parents, siblings and the prophet. Yet, he was the choice of God

Its this tradition that continue here with John and Jesus Christ. The same can be said of Apostle Paul in relation to other apostles. Although the least of all apostles, but was one of the greatest.

Thus, we are never to look down nor use age and longevity in the ministry to convey acceptability or become a criteria to recruit men into ministry or leadership position.

God can always use anybody no matter the age, experience, etc. no matter their pedigree, age or status provided their hearts are right before Him

What’s more, the wisdom of Solomon has nothing to do with the age of Methuselah. If that is the case, we should not base leadership recruitment mainly on age.

Rather, the role of the Holy Spirit, their moral rectitude, a disciplined family life and a person of personal self control, hospitable, etc. as listed out in Titus 1:5-9, 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Peter 5:1-4 should be used as the yardstick for recruiting leaders .

The inherent lessons for us here is that we should not despise nor look down on any one in authority and then sees ourselves as potential leaders as well. We should therefore view every responsibility committed into our hands as our path to headship; for it is through service that we come to position of leadership.

May nothing hinder you from getting to the summit of your career, ministry or assignment in Jesus name, Amen
