Crime rate is high in Nigeria because many young people with negative energies are channeling them into negative outcomes - armed robbery, cultism, kidnapping, Internet fraud, electoral thuggery, etc. Nigerian youth is not different from youth in developed countries; they all have negative energies. It is not a crime to have negative energy, it only becomes a crime when it delivers negative outcomes.

It is the duty of parent first, teachers second, religious leader third, and government fourth, in that order, to help channel these negative energies into positive outcome. Sadly, the erosion of morals and the love of money have led to the failure of Nigerians parents, teachers, and religious leaders in guiding our young people in the right path and channeling their negative energies into positive outcomes. What these levels of guardian now do is t blame the government for their failure. it is not that government have no role to play; government's role in helping raise profitable young population is to provide the enabling environment and infrastructure for the young people thrive. Government's role is only important when the other categories of guardian have failed to play their part. If parents are successful, if teachers are successful, if religious leaders are successful, there is little part left for a government play.

But what kind of parents, teachers, and religious leaders do we have today? They are the morally backward, money pursuing, get-rich-at-all cost categories of guardians. What do you hear parents talk about these days? Many parents today encourage their children into crimes. What do teachers do these days? What do religious leaders preach these days? Money and material possession; these are the yardstick of measuring a successful religious person in Nigeria today. No Church is talking about the Kingdom of God and its reighteousness, repentance, honesty, and hard work. Our lecturers are the likeness of laziness, corruption and s*x perversion. Many of our religious leaders are wolves in sheep clothing, sellers of the blessings of God to the highest bidders, and lovers of money and devil than lovers of the brethrens.

The Bible says,

"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." (Prov 22:6)

"Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger; instead, bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord." (Ephesians 6:4)

How many of today's parents are teaching their children in the way of Lord? How many of our fathers are bringing up their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord?

Government's failure stemmed from its failure to provide the enabling environment and infrastructure for our young people to prosper. Successive governments have had no clue what and how to go about it. Whereas solutions are right there for us, many of our government officials have been blinded by corruption that they cannot just see it. A leader blinded by corruption cannot see a near mountain.

I say this: give me the position of Minister of Sports and Youth Development, and see what will become of many young people in Nigeria in 10 years time. I will not only raise them to become world beaters, I will also make many of them wealthy. I am boastful in the ability and the knowledge God Almighty have given me. I will make many young people successful.

Like I said the blueprint is out there - Anthony Joshua, Israel Adesanya, Kamaru Usman, Efe Ajagba, Hakeem Dawodu, Efetobore Apochi, etc. But only people with good sight can see it.

May God help Nigeria.
