It's 2022 and don't be surprised when I tell you there are over 20 social media platforms out there...

Instagram, Tiktok, Snapchat, Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp, pinterest, ... the list goes on

The platforms are so popular that the least visited among the ones I mentioned has over 300 million ACTIVE users...

Now, as a business owner, what would this mean?

📍 Free Publicity

Social media platforms have massive numbers of users - Facebook has about 2.79 billion, Instagram has about 1.3 billion, WhatsApp has over 1.9 billion billion users from all over the world (dreamgrow.com ; statista.com).

This means that your business has a potential of attracting up to 1 billion+ people on these platforms...

All you need to do is to do your homework well about what they need and how you can relate it with the solutions you provide...

📍 New Clients

Truly, television and radio advertising are still on, but social media is speeding up in taking over, and the reason is simple...

These platforms have created means by which people can easily relate with each other and share their life events (including those funny cat videos), so people spend more time online than sitting down and watching TV (Needless to metion that Netflix is fast rising too)

Your own job will then to be to convert the attention you've gotten into currency in your account.

How❓
Provide solutions!

📍 Last but not least is Fast and easy feedback

From bants to critiques, from Twitter comments to Facebook groups, everybody has something to say online...

And whether you like it or not, people who have interacted with your brand will have something to say about you...

Social media is a way to gather all of these things they say about you and use it to serve them better... and in the end,⬇️

Get Their Testimonials and Referrals... and I tell you, those two things I mentioned are key to growing your customers base

🗒️ A quick recap

Social media can help you to
- Get Free Publicity
- Gain New Customers/Clients
- Gather Honest Feedbacks

STORY TIME GUYS😊
TITLE: A Sales Meeting.

Prospect: I need you to write a winning advert copy that will yield at least 300+ new leads.

Me: That's interesting. Do you have a USP?

Prospect: Oh no, I don't.

Me: Okay, just let me know which problems your products solve for your target customers and we'll start from there.

Prospect: Hmm. Do my products have to solve a problem?

Me: Yes, they do, and that inspires your brand story and guides your pattern of delivering your message.

Also, if I will write a winning copy that will guarantee you 300+ new leads, it is compulsory that I align it with the specific needs of your target customers.

So, I suggest that we extract solutions your products offer and find those who need such solutions. Are you ready to begin with that?

Prospect: Yes please.
END OF STORY.

CONCLUSION: Whether it's a product you are selling or a service you are rendering, always think in respect to the problem you can help people solve because...

People DON'T BUY The Products You Are selling. They BUY THE SOLUTIONS You Are Offering.

P.S. USP means Unique Selling Proposition/Point.

No matter how tough a person is, when you have maintained a good relationship with the person, it becomes easy for you to ask get the person’s attention and even get the person to offer you a favor.

Such was the case yesterday when I was going to church as was my usual practice every Sunday.

As I approached the park, where I was going to get a motorcycle (or okada as we call it here) that will take me to the church, I noticed that somebody approached me with confidence.

When I looked at the face of this person, I remembered that he was the same person that used to take me to my tutorial center when I was taking UTME (JAMB) lessons and we had a good customer-vendor relationship…

As you have rightly guessed, I didn’t think twice before I followed him☺

Right there where there were other motorcyclists who were calling for my attention, he got my attention and closed me.

Now here are some things I learnt:

It is harder to acquire new customers/clients than it is to sell again (repeated sales) to old customers/clients. That is why he could get me.

Customers don’t forget how you have served them. If I had been served terribly by him the previous times we have met, I definitely won’t be willing to go with him again.

Once again, repeated sales are easier to get than new sales, and repeated sales is only achievable after you have delivered quality to the client/customer.

Let me know the lessons that you have learnt from the story in the comment section, including the one(s) you think I might have left out.

Don’t forget to share this post with people who you know can find this helpful too.

Good news is, I’m willing to share the exact strategies I’ve been following that ensured that I never run out of clients for the past 7 months.

To learn these guaranteed strategies, Send Me a Message on WhatsApp (my number is at the top of the page).

To Consistent Sales,🥂
Joe.

Copy VS Content

Everyday we wake up, say our prayers, grab our phones and get on the internet (even as we go to work, we use our phones on the go).

Why do we come on the internet E-VE-RY-DAY?

We already know that we are going to get New Quotes to Inspire us, New Captions to Educate us, New Memes to entertain us😆, and of course, photos and videos of our family and friends.

We even share our opinions about trending topics and we listen to what others have to say about the same topics.

Everyday, we consume and give content - Basically, the internet lives on Content.

Imagine a day passes by and no one all over the world posts a thing. How Dry!😅

So, basically, Content is what makes the websites, blogs, social media, online forums stay ALIVE!☘️.

It Engages Us, Educates Us, and Entertains Us; The person who writes content for other people's websites, blogs, social media, etc is a Content Writer.

BUT...

Those texts, whether plain or put in images or videos, posted with the aim of getting people to buy from you (whether your physical or digital products, your services or even to follow a link to a video) is COPY!

And that is the basic difference between Content and Copy.

Content's main aim is NOT SELLING but if you're looking to SELL and Not Just Create Engagements, You Need Copy.

CONCLUSION: CONTENT is where the ENGAGEMENT lies while the MONEY (sales) is inside COPY🤑

If you found this helpful, give this a like👍 and share↗️ with others.

Ever wondered "What the heck is copywriting?"
Or you're looking to jump into copywriting someday but you know very little or even nothing about it?

Congratulations! You're in the right place because here, I'll be releasing at least once a week, posts concerning Copywriting, 𝖬arketing and 𝐒ales.

Wondering what I have for you today? Right Here👇🏽!

Today, I'll be talking on what 𝐂𝐨𝐩𝐲𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 actually is and 3 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐑𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐬 that guide the art of Copywriting.

Copywriting is basically the use of the written word to create an awareness about a brand, build trust with potential customers and encourage them to spend their money with you and not any other brand.

In simpler terms, it is the skillful use of words to guide a potential customer (the prospect) towards buying what you have to offer.

To do that, there are steps and there are techniques but today I'll only be sharing what I call the 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐬 of copywriting

- 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫
The only time that people will dip their hands into their pockets and purchase what you are selling is when they are convinced that they are getting higher value for what you are selling. So as a copywriter, register this subconscious𝗅𝗒 to always propose higher value than price.

- 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞.
If you cant deliver your copy in a conversational tone, like you're talking to a friend, it's going to be really hard for you to connect with people in a conversational and empathetic way, without which you can't build any connection and in the end, 𝗆𝖺𝗄𝖾 𝖺𝗇𝗒 𝗌𝖺𝗅𝖾.

Although there may be situations when you'll need to tone it down a bit and be more authoritative like in the cases of Homepage and some other website copy, but basically.. 𝐋𝐨𝐰 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐋𝐨𝐰 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧.

- 𝐂𝐓𝐀 (Call To Action)
This is the major distinguishing factor between writing copy or merely writing content.

A content writers job is to create awareness, interactions and education with the CTAs mainly being to like, follow, share, subscribe or comment.

A copywriter on the other hand, is basically needed to put persuasion techniques plus skillful use of words to get a reader to perform an action, be it to click a link to a sales page, click on the link that leads to a checkout page (if on a sales page), and many other actions other than to like, follow, share or comment.

The main exception to this rule is found in email sequences when a series of email go ahead to warm up a new audience before the actual sales pitch/call.

Next week, I'll share on the differences between Content writing and Copywriting but before then, if you found this post helpful, hit that like button now and let me know your thoughts and questions in the comment section below.

Also. Don't forget to share this post with your friends who you know will find this helpful too.

Till next week when we meet to discuss the differences between Copywriting and Content writing, I am 𝐉𝐨𝐞 𝐏𝐞𝐠𝐛𝐚

Odabo for now.👋🏼😊
