DOES ANYONE HAVE A QUESTION?
I remember this line so vividly from my primary school days. After every lesson, the teacher would pause and ask, "Any questions?" And guess what the entire class would say?
"No, ma!"
Even though deep down, many of us were completely lost.
It became a norm to pretend we understood, just so we wouldn't look “slow” or “different.” I once asked my classmate why we all did that, and he just smiled and said, “That’s how it has always been.”
But one day, I chose to break that norm.
I raised my hand and asked a question.
And suddenly, every head turned: “Who’s this guy?”
But I did it anyway.
And to my surprise, my teacher welcomed the question with so much warmth. That day, I learned something powerful:
It pays to stand out.
And that same mindset is what I carried into this Happy New Month design.
When I was asked to create a flyer for WCF Unilag, I didn’t want to design just like everyone else. I didn’t want to follow the usual pattern. I wanted to create something different, something bold, vibrant, and memorable.
I explored different ideas, tried fresh angles, added depth and creativity…
…and what came out was a piece I’m really proud of.
And guess what? They loved it!
