PRESS STATEMENT
Once again, Hon. Shalewa and his confused caucus of councillors have attempted to showcase their talent for constitutional comedy. After gathering full attendance of 10 councillors, they still failed to secure the required two-third (2/3) majority to remove the Leader of the House.
Let us remind them, slowly:
✅ Total councillors: 10
✅ 2/3 required: 7
✅ Those who voted: 6
✅ Those who refused: 4
6 ≠ 7.
Even primary school arithmetic defeats their ambition.
Instead of admitting their failure, some of them are now running from media platform to media platform, shouting louder than their knowledge. The law does not reward noise it rewards numbers.
Surprisingly, Hon. Shalewa’s supporters are celebrating a result that failed right there on the floor of the House. That is legislative embarrassment on live record.
While these councillors are busy chasing shadows, Engr. Akeem Olatunji is busy:
Prioritizing people-oriented policies, and bringing pride to Oluyole.
He is simply too busy to be distracted by political playground games.
Those who have nothing to show always look for someone to pull down. Unfortunately for them, progress cannot be intimidated.
Let the Shalewa-led councillors continue to hold meetings on how to lose legally.
We will continue to hold meetings on how to develop Oluyole.
THE LAW HAS SPOKEN
A 6–4 vote:
❌ fails automatically
❌ lacks 2/3 legal standing
❌ cannot remove a principal officer
On this solid constitutional ground:
✅ Hon. Taofeek Azeez remains the ONLY valid Leader of the Legislative House.
No press noise can overturn mathematics.
No gossip can undo legislation.
While some councillors are busy acting drama,
Engr. Akeem Olatunji remains busy delivering development.
Oluyole has moved forward.
Anyone attempting to drag it backward is only dragging themselves.
Oluyole will be great not by noise, but by leadership.
