*THIRTY YEARS AGO AND 30 YEARS AHEAD: 30 REASONS ASIWAJU OF APC SHOULD BECOME THE 16TH NIGERIA PRESIDENT*

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (Jagaban Borgu) has my vote and should have yours because of these facts many of which have been verified and corroborated by his successor who's an incumbent Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN).
(1) *Establishmemt of LAWMA* - Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu's symbolic efforts in employment of the educated youths and engagement of the skilled ones remains unforgettable. For his 8 years in office, thousands if young people including graduates were employed into several schemes including LAWMA because keeping Lagos clean was on the front burner of Asiwaju's administration. He started the campaign for transforming Lagos from a known slum to a mega city with full operations of waste managers involving public-private partnerships of PSP. This has also become one of his landmark achievements copied by other state governments.
(2) *Establishment of HIGHWAY MANAGERS* - Thousands were employed as managers of the roads as it is in advanced countries. Their efforts kept Lagos clean to date and has further improved the life span of Lagos roads evident in most part of lagos state roads that have being tarred for decades.
(3) *Creation of LASTMA* - Thousands of our youths were employed and the traffic management force helped to instill sanity on the road especially among drivers who were turning Lagos to epicentre of disorderliness.
(4) *Started KAI* - Thousands of our youths were employed as staff of Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) which is another form of War Against Indiscipline. It was instituted to curb excesses of recalcitrant citizens and reduce nuisances in communities across Lagos State.
(5) *Instituted CBD Agency* - Thousands were employed to install order and discipline in all urban parts of Lagos State.
(6) *Establishment of LAGBUS* - Many people were employed and Lagos Transportation system started evolving from this initiative.
(7) *Created LASIMRA, LASAA* - Thousands were employed in the transformed state agencies that improved the IGR of the state from 600m that he met it in 1999 to over a thousand percent increment.
(8) *Established LASEPA* - Many young people were employed as proectors ofthe environments at the wake of millennium when the discussion about global warming was still very fresh and at low key.
(9) *LAGOS Stadia* - He rebuilt Teslim Balogun Stadium to a world class standard and ensured other stadiums including the Onikan Stadium being the first in Nigeria was in good shape for sports development and youth engagement.
(10) *He started LASAMBUS* - Many people were employed too and the initiative improved emergency service in Lagos State. Operation Sweep became Rapid Response Squad thus allowing a more professional and equipped police to tackle insecurity which has become the trend other governors on Lagos follows and reason Lagos State is the only state Bokoharam and Fulani herdsmen haven't operated. 'Badoo in Ikorodu axis' of the state was caught in no-time because of Lagos State support for police and community relations.
(11) *Created LIRS* - It became the benchmark for revenue generation and emplyment opportunities for thousands of our youths in many states that are following this initiative. He also *digitized the Lagos Civil Service* to seamlessly address the issues of ghost workers and reduce waste in governance and corruption as at the wake of the millennium when the world was just going digital and many African leaders weren't thinking this way.
(12) *More LOCAL COUNCILS* - Employment opportunity for youths and improved dividends of democracy to constituents in the grassroots with the creation of 37 LOCAL COUNCIL DEVELOPMENT AREA (LCDA) to make governance closer to the people and improve infrastructural development.
(13) *Improved Educational System and Education Trust Fund* : Educational curriculum development, reduced infrastructural deficits in schools including the rehabilitation of dilapidated schools across Lagos State and he constructed new schools in 2001 which he tagged 'The Millennium schools' few months into entering office as Governor of Lagos State.
(14) *Health Sector* : Free health care for senior citizens starting from age 60 years old and above.
(15) *Maternal and Child Care* : Free health care for children and pregnant women in Lagos. Even citizens of neighbouring states took advantage of this largess.
(16) In a nutshell, free health care delivery services commenced under Tinubu.
(17) He provided millions of 'Free eye glasses' (JIGI BOLA) to citizens who couldn't afford to pay for private Ophthalmic services.
(18) *Power Project* : He almost completed Lagos State independent electricity project before General Olusegun Obasanjo regime used his veto power to stop him from taking Lagos out of epileptic power supply which is still ravaging the state and the entire country like an incurable endemic till date - "Up Nepa".
(19) Despite the *creation of 37 LCDA* which he achieved and maintained without collecting local governments allocation from the Obasanjo led Federal Government, Tinubu did not owe Lagos workers a dime throughout his tenure as Lagos State governor.
(20) *Road Construction:* Jagaban constructed the best roads that has not being reconstructed or patched for over or close to two (2) decades past, Oregun road (Kudirat Abiola way), Lekki Epe Express road among other available examples. That's the quality Tinubu is known to bring to governance and infrastructural development.
(21) *Improved Workers welfare* : He incessantly increased teacher's salaries and started paying workers before month end. Ditto, health workers and the rest in a way that Lagos Civil Service became a model for other states in terms of salary and arrears payment.
(22) *More on Education:* Asiwaju means the leader. He took the lead in offering free education for UBE students and included the supply of free text books for both primary and secondary school students.
(23) *Started Free WAEC/NECO:* Asiwaju administration was first to pay for Senior Secondary Certificate
Examination (WAEC and NECO) for all SS3 students throughout his tenure as Lagos State governor. The first governor to do that and has become a political legacy that many followed to date.
(24) *Philanthropic Cash Donations for project:* Tinubu donated N100million for the reconstruction of katsina central market, which was recently razed by fire. With this effort and many more, he has empowered so many people and he hopes to do more if elected.
(25) Tinubu donated N1bn for the construction of LASU leadership centre. He hopes to do more for the Nigerian Youths when elected as our President using the renewed hope mantra.
(26) Even in the North, the detribalized Tinubu refurbished, renovated and upgraded the Arewa House Library in Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State whoch was officially opened on Tuesday, July 13, 2021.
(27) He created a platform to rebuild Lekki/Ajah axis which is now the home of thousands of Celebrities in Nigeria.
(28) *Industrial Revolution:* His government carved out Lekki Free Trade zone.
(29) *World Class Real Estate:* He started constructing Eko Atlantic City, a city when completed will compete healthily with Dubai and top cities around the world.
(30) *Cared for Officers:* He rebuilt the Ikeja Cantonment after the tragic Bomb blast that rocked the city of Ikeja in year 2001.
You asked for few things which he did, I make bold to enumerate 30 (Thirty) things among a lot Tinubu did as Governor in Lagos State.
*Synopsis* :
I wish there is any living political leader in Nigeria that can beat such records aside for the fact Asiwaju political dynasty has birthed countless leaders across Nigeria that has performed remarkably well. His drive and passion for democracy and improvement of democratic institutions knows no measure. At a time like this when we Nigerians need experience more than rhetorical claims, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the answer as he is the round peg in the round hole.
