APC NASS Primaries: Lalong, Mwadkwon, Barji, Beni Lar, Gagdi Among Winners in Plateau

Former Simon Bako Lalong, alongside Simon Mwadkwon, David Bitrus Barji, Beni Lar and Musa Bagos, have emerged winners in the National Assembly primaries of All Progressives Congress conducted across Plateau State.
Lalong secured the party’s ticket for Plateau South Senatorial District after polling the highest number of votes in the exercise.
For Plateau North, Mwadkwon, a former Minority Leader, won the APC ticket with a wide margin in the senatorial primaries.
In Plateau Central, businessman Barji defeated incumbent Senator Diket Plang and other contenders to emerge the party’s candidate.
In the House of Representatives primaries, Beni Lar won the ticket for Langtang North/Langtang South Federal Constituency, while Bagos clinched victory in Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency.
Also declared winner was Yusuf Gagdi, who secured the APC ticket for Pankshin/Kanam/Kanke Federal Constituency.
Other successful aspirants include Joshya Dashe for Qua’an Pan/Mikang/Shendam Federal Constituency, Idris Maje Wase for Wase Federal Constituency, and Abubakar Sadiq Plaza, who won the Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency primaries.
Announcing the results in Jos, Stella Okotete, Chairman of the APC Plateau State Primaries Electoral Committee, described the exercise as peaceful, transparent and credible.
She commended APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda, Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, party leaders and stakeholders for their support, and praised members for ensuring a peaceful process.
Okotete said the primaries were conducted in line with the party’s constitution and guidelines.
