So timi was just like you and I, always making this statement. Once I have small rash, na to buy antibiotics oo
Even going to the point of buying malaria drugs alongside antibiotics claiming that treating malaria without treating typhoid is not it.

Timi kept misusing antibiotics, no Doctor's prescription, no test, nothing.
Untill timi actually came down with infection, and the antibiotics was not working anymore.

What happened? He finally went to the hospital to see what was going on. Timi had developed ANTI-MICROBIAL RESISTANCE (AMR)

AMR has been responsible for multiple deaths all over the world, a lot of us don't know, what it is sef.
But this is when a person develops resistance to the antibiotics used in treating infections and other diseases.

It makes surgeries unsafe, and can lead to death. It takes so many years before new drugs are formulated, let's protect our selfs by not abusing the ones we have now.

And that's why I'm using this medium to say to you, to build a great brand you need to be alive first. Let's avoid abusing antibiotics like timi.

Let's speak to a physician, get tested and seek the right medications always.

Someone is after you, but you don't know yet. Let me tell you who.

Carry chair and hear
You know how we are all searching for gigs right now, searching for clients and all right?

So I put a WhatsApp link on my bio, to get clients from IG. That was mistake number one, I'll change it to an email today Sha 🤧.

This man messaged me about a job, no job description nothing.
Oga what's your full name, what will I be doing nothing.

That was when I knew something was off, He sent me a link to telegram and I requested for a name, cause I don't feel comfortable clicking links.

He sent it.
And this is the second thing you should please remember.
I TOOK THE LINK TO GPT AND ASKED, IS THIS SAFE TO CLICK.

GPT gave me the full story oo. And that was how I was saved. I understand this may be basic for some people but a lot of people don't know this.

There are also some websites you can use to know if a link is legit or not, like scamAdviser and many more. If you know them please share in the comments.

This is not a lie but many people don't really say it, cause we should all know right?

This is how you can easily get lost when just starting out, especially when you don't have a guide like me.

I came on LinkedIn with the intention of upgrading my skill and getting clients, connecting with other professionals and even my clients deeply.

I would see the achievements of people on LinkedIn, how every post is refined, polished, aesthetically pleasing and everyone was getting roles, except me I guess 😂
funny enough I wasn't the only one Sha.

I began to not do my work well, try to copy one or two things here and there, but that wasn't who I am.

In the course of the journey I realized something, that when you don't deeply know why you are on a platform, it's easy to want to be like everyone else, while there's no other business or person like you.

Yes you do the same graphics design as others, but the way you do it is different. The client you will serve may like the minimalistic designs you do as opposed to bold and complex.
But there is a client that will hire you that's the point

You just need persistence and a consistent system for growth.
This way, you improve and give value to your clients, you are not just aesthetically pleasing but also filled with substance.

And I must confess, the aesthetics brings clients in, but if you spend too much time, trying to make the pictures you take look good to get clients and you aren't improving your craft you'll end up losing them.

So make you page look good, let it be optimized ( this is the part where you send a dm for me to help you with that😉) but always make sure you have value to give🤍💜.

You probably forgot, but read this for a quick reminder.

This is how we easily forget.
There was this plan i had to finish a number of designs and topics for the month, premium designs, even though they were for a phantom client.

I wanted to build a portfolio. The whole of march passed and I had only done two designs, it's not even about medical school taking most of my time, but it was a thing about always forgetting to do it.

Then I realized, it's not forgetfulness, it's lack of priority, and this is sadly how we mostly think about our businesses sometimes.

So I decided that this month I'll take my business seriously, and I will do better, use this remarkable skill I have to help Businesses as I should

Don't you think you're putting too little effort and expecting so much.....

This was the thought that hit my mind as I complained about not making progress in my studies.

And this is the same for many businesses and students unfortunately. You put the least amount of effort into your visuals, your marketing and even the packaging of your brand. Your page is not optimized but you expect the best out of it.

But this month, we're saying no to that, this month we're putting in the efforts, we won't fold our arms and watch our business, academics or even our life fall apart. We shall put in the work and those loud results will come.

The 16 days of activism against Gender based violence was not just a design job for me
It meant using my skill for greater good, it meant speaking up against Gender based violence.

After this design last year, I learnt a lot, that GBV isn't always physical, a comment you see as cruise could crush someone's heart out there.

I'm grateful I to have worked on this project last year with LAMECON empowerment foundation.
