THIS IS A FORETEST OF THE SUNDAY SERVICE SERMON, TOPIC:
"THE CAPTIVES OF THOUGHT" ,
INTRODUCTION:
Thought is the distinctive mark of a man. “On earth there’s nothing great but mind”; and the great function of mind is to think. The ability to think is man’s great distinction. Man without thought is destitute of the great Human characteristics. By the exercise of thought transferring what is without and within. We can carry the “world in our hearts” and by our thought we can outwardly embody the creations of our mind.
The aim and objective of this message is for awakening our emotions and consciousness to free ourselves from the bondages and captivity of thought. To be libriage, because those that are rich they first become rich in their thoughts, those that were poor may become poorest in their thoughts.
The Bible says in Proverbs 23:7, “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” Thought shapes identity and action.
1.Jesus says, "out of the treasure of hearts, the mouth speaks" (Matt 12:34)
2.Risk Warren said, “what differentiate between a successful man and unsuccessful man is the ability of thinking”
CONCLUSION:
We are either captives to our thoughts or we make our thoughts captives to Christ, The Christian life begins with a renewed mind. As Augustine said, “You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in you.” Restless, undisciplined thoughts keep us from that rest.
