School Organizational Structure and Duties
1. Head Teacher
Overall leader of the school.
Responsible for academic excellence, discipline, and smooth running of the institution.
Oversees staff performance, pupils’ welfare, and ensures adherence to curriculum and policies.
Represents the school in external matters.
2. Deputy Head
Assists the Head Teacher in daily management.
Supervises teachers, ensures lessons are well delivered, and maintains discipline among pupils.
Acts as Head Teacher in their absence.
3. Administration
Handles school records, admissions, timetables, correspondence, and documentation.
Ensures proper communication between staff, parents, and external bodies.
Keeps financial and resource records.
4. Department Heads
Lead specific subject departments (e.g., Mathematics, Science, English).
Support teachers within their department, organize schemes of work, and monitor teaching standards.
Ensure subject resources are available and effectively used.
5. Teachers
Deliver lessons according to the curriculum.
Manage classrooms, assess pupils’ work, and support their learning progress.
Instill discipline, values, and motivation in learners.
6. Admin Staff
Provide clerical and secretarial support.
Manage files, records, communication, and school accounts.
Assist in organizing school events and logistics.
7. Support Staff
Provide non-teaching assistance like library services, ICT support, laboratory assistants, and health officers.
Help create a conducive learning environment.
8. Security
Protects the school premises and ensures safety of staff, pupils, and property.
Controls entry and exit points.
Monitors movements during and after school hours.
9. Cleaner
Maintains hygiene in classrooms, offices, staffrooms, and toilets.
Ensures a neat, tidy, and safe environment for teaching and learning.
Supports the school in presenting a welcoming atmosphere.
