WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF HAVING A LONG-TERM DIGITAL MARKETING STRATEGY?
Let me offer you a basic social media example. When you first start using social media, you clearly have no followers, but you begin posting and posting constantly. You make a weekly calendar for yourself and begin writing and uploading material on a regular basis for your followers to view. and ofcourse, you'll see an increase in followers. Although follower growth varies from person to person, you will notice that your followers begin to increase.
Assume you won't be able to post for a month or more. Will your fan base continue to expand?
Maybe! Will they, however, continue to develop at the same rate as before? Certainly not.People forget about you when you
cease promoting, and your growth slows.
Take, for example, Coca-Cola. They're around 100 years old and have been selling their drinks all across the world since
then. Despite this, they continue to launch new efforts, such as placing your name on the bottle. Why would they do it if
they were already well-established? It is due to the fact that individuals change.
Audiences evolve, as do their choices.
As a result, they must continue to market and remain relevant. When you first begin marketing, your aim is to raise
awareness of your company, and as you continue to promote to the same group of individuals, they will become customers.
How do you keep your marketing consistent?
What can you do now that you've realized that not being consistent with your marketing is a mistake? I'll share a few
pointers based on my own experience.
The first step is to create a marketing strategy. Have a defined marketing strategy in
place for a set period of time. When you're first starting out, a three-month period is an excellent idea.
As you gain experience, you will be able to plan up to a year ahead of time. Your marketing plan should include what your goal is for that time period, what channels you want to be on, and what you want to say on those channels.
BUDGET:
After you've settled on a strategy, you'll need to figure out a budget and the resources you'll require. Because you
don't have the budgets of a large corporation, this becomes an issue for small enterprises. That is why it is critical to
plan your budget ahead of time. You know what you need to promote, and your budget may either hinder or assist you in
achieving that goal. Having a specific budget in mind will allow you to devote that amount of money to marketing without
having to worry about it hurting other elements of your organization.
Also, be specific about the resources you require. For example, if you want graphic design services, do you have them in-house or would you have to hire someone? Of course, if you need to hire someone, that will be factored into your budget. As a result, aligning your budget and resources with your strategy will help you have a very clear picture of where you want to go in three months.
BATCH YOUR MATERIAL:
The next thing you should do (and this is something I strongly recommend!) is to develop content for your campaign in batches. If you're launching a social media campaign, for example, generate all of the material at once. Don't assume you'll be able to pull it off at the last minute because I promise you won't be able to.
Also, because you developed the information in one go, it seems to
be consistent when you're working on a bunch of it. This applies to anything that is part of your campaign for that time period,
whether it being video, blogs, webinars or anything else.
KEEPING TRACK:
When making a long-term strategy, it's critical to keep track of all of your action dates. This is much more
critical if you have a team since you need to know who is doing what and when they will provide it. Know what has to be
delivered when, whether it's just you or your entire team, in order to accomplish what you've set out to do. When working
with a group, it's critical to invest in a productivity tool like Asana, which allows everyone to see who's doing what.
These four actions should assist you in maintaining consistency in your marketing efforts. Marketing is a crucial part of
your business, and you can't afford to neglect it because you're preoccupied with other matters. So, every three months,
make a strategy explaining what you need to do to keep on top of all of your marketing operations. A long-term digital
marketing approach will aid your company's gradual and steady growth.
