Good morning, besties ❤️. Angela Wusu’s story really touched my heart, and I believe more parents need to hear this message.

Please, let’s stop normalizing the maltreatment of children as “discipline” or saying, “That’s how we were raised.” If you hurt your child, acknowledge it. Feel the pain of what you did. Apologize. Make amends.

Being a parent doesn’t mean you can never be wrong. Sometimes, one sincere apology can mean so much to a child who has carried that pain for years.

🚨 What shared is not fiction. Sadly, many children have lived through this kind of abuse.
😢 😭 😿
Yes, I listened to ’s story about the way her parents maltreated her, and I can honestly say that these things happen in some families, especially in African homes.

I remember a family friend who had six girls and one boy. I witnessed some of the things their daughters went through—beatings, humiliation, being thrown out of the house naked, and other forms of cruel punishment. One of the girls, who was my age mate, became so broken that she would tell me she wanted to kia. I remember sitting beside her near a well, begging her not to jump.

There was even a time she took an overdose of medication and was unconscious for days. And when she recovered, the abuse continued.

These were not strangers. These were her biological parents.

Children should never have to survive the very people who are supposed to protect them. Discipline should never become cruelty, humiliation, or abuse.

I have so much more to say about what I witnessed growing up, but I will stop here for now.

Part 2 is coming on . This conversation is important. We need to talk about it. 🥺💔
