AVOID LONG FORMS.
I bet you've read this advice somewhere if you were finding out how to make your website.
It's a solid tip, but what if you need a lot of information? Then that advice becomes pretty useless.
Here's what you should do instead: use TWO-STEP forms.
In the first step, capture the user's name and email address. In the second step, gather the remaining information.
This approach can significantly boost your conversions.
But what if they don't buy in the end? What if they abandon the second step?
No problem—you still have their email address. Boom.
Now, you can bombard them with emails and make them buy.
Easy.
