I have been pregnant since last year, 2024.
This pregnancy has come with lots of panic attacks, sleepless nights and lots of discomfort.
This pregnancy was meant to usher the birth of my brainchild - MUTATION '25.
MUTATION '25 was supposed to be a one-day powerful conference for young people in Lagos.
The goal of this conference was to teach young people about emotional healing.
This conference was tagged - HEALING: Rewriting Our Emotional DNA.
The proposed date was Saturday, the 22nd of November, 2025.
The proposed venue was University of Lagos.
Unfortunately, less 30 days to our proposed event date, so many things weren't in place yet.
Eg. No confirmed speakers, no venue, no sponsors, poor marketing & publicity, etc.
With these things still unsorted, it was going to be disastrous for us to go ahead and hold MUTATION '25 on the 22nd of November, 2025.
We decided to take a step back, go back to drawing board and make sure the vision for MUTATION '25 turns out the way we imagined it.
Yes, it's going to involve a longer planning time.
Yes, we'll need to bring in more team members.
Yes, Mutation '25 might become Mutation '26.
But however it is, we're not pushing out an unfinished product into the market.
The truth is...
Anything worth doing is worth doing well! (If we're going to host this Conference, then, we must do it well.)
You don't get a second chance to make a first impression! (This is going to be our first ever BIG event in the city of Lagos, so, we can't afford to do a haphazard job)
There's no need doing all of these and we don't reach the people the conference is meant for.
Sadly, MUTATION '25 won't be holding this year!
We have decided to move the event to sometime in 2026.
This is a very sad decision to make, but it is one we genuinely needed to make.
So, as a result of that, I'm still pregnant with this vision. And I'm sure one day, this child will be born.
