The opportunities and tools that are before us in this generation are enourmous. One of them are digital marketing tools; Social media advertising, SEO, Google My Business, AI for business etc.

One thing that is important to note is that there are a lot of businesses out there that are looking to increase their prfitability. As a result, digital marketing would always be an evergreen skill to acquire.

While a lot of people look at opportunities of "japa" from Africa, this is one skill that one can acquire and enjoy both worlds. Learning a skill like digital marketing affords one to be able to even live in Africa and still earn foreign currency, especially for businesses situated in the USA, UK and Canada; as this skill is universal.

The reality is that our young people must move away from this mentality of owning "paper certificates" that do not amount to much in terms of value. Any paper certificate that does not encourage anyone today, from spending a lot of time on their laptops doing legitimate activities, would work against them in the near future.

The days for manual marketing is going. If there is anything you want anyone to see, put it on their mobile phone and the skill to make this happen is digital marketing.

All of last week was agog in Port Harcourt, Rivers State - Nigeria, where the District 9141 of the Rotary Club International had their event; tagged "The magic of Rotary".

Our Founder/CEO, Mr. Olaniyi Adeosun was invited to speak in a break our session on Opportunities in Importation & Exportation business.

He spoke extensively, opening the eyes of the listeners about what importation and exportation are and the opportunities that lie therein.

He went further to remind the participants on the need to create and keep a clean online social media presence, as these form a critical part of reputation building, especially when it comes to exportation business. As long as you want to do export business, your prospective buyers would go check your profile online, to know if you are credible or not.

He also, as much as possible discussed the fears people have about exportation business and allayed those fears; as exportation business is highly technical. From getting buyers, to understanding export INCOTERMS, understanding export documentation etc. The list of technicalities are endless.

However, we have made it a lot easier for our students who taking our coaching masterclass, because of the life time mentorship community we have created where, we assist our students and mentees who take our masterclass with all their needs, as they plunge into export business.

So, for us its about us assisting people achieve their export business goals, so we dont just train on the theory, we stay with our students all the way, until you are able to export their products abroad.

lease, let nobody deceive you, for you to make a headway with any product or service you offer, you must set out a good chunk of money for your marketing.

There is a popular saying; doing business without advertising is like winking in the dark. Only you would know what you are doing, nobody else would know.

Trust me, I have been in your shoes before. So, I know you are asking yourself what happens if I market this product and I don't make any sales? It means you are selling a product or service that nobody needs, why would you be doing that?

Another question you'd be asking is, where will I get money for marketing from? You have to look for it, whether by selling one of your properties or asking a friend or family to assist you with your marketing cost. If you have to partner with a marketing agency to share profits, you have to do it. You must do something by marketing your products or services.

As you embark on your business of export, as you think and plan for product development, you must also factor in the cost of marketing. They go hand in hand. You can't develop a product and expect it to sell itself, it doesn't work that way. After developing the product, you have to put that product in the faces of your customers.

Guess what? Marketing has become easier with social media. Don't say you have not been told.

Like I always teach, if there is any product you want people to see, put it in their mobile phones through paid advertising.

A research a few years ago showed that an average person touch their mobile phones 1,500 times a day, which means, any product you advertise through digital marketing channels is likely to been seen by a large number of people.

Taking our products (Multipath Foods) globally, selling in every country outside Nigeria is a task that must be done.

We have been having this conversations with one of our mentees that trained under our export business training program, who is based in Canada.

He had told our CEO he will be coming to Nigeria and whenever he comes, he would want to have a one - on - one meeting. When he arrived, he called to let us know. He eventually kept his promise to visit our CEO in his home in Lagos.

They had fruitful discussions about how to put our brand on the Canadian markets; selling online and expanding to African shops in Canada. In doing this, we had to give him samples of our products he would be taking to Canada to create the market on our behalf.

Like our CEO always says, the only person that can stop you from exportation business is only you. We will continue to see how we can assist our students and mentees to increase their earnings through exportation business; we will go out of our way in making this happen.

So, as we expand into the UK markets, gear up for the Canada markets too.

We give God alone all the glory for enlarging our coasts.

The journey of tech is always a long journey.

Like we always say in the product development world; products are never fully formed, as you build you get revelations on how the product would evolve into.

This is your Facebook in 2004, at its inception.

I joined Facebook in 2007, at that time, you could only write 160 character of text, just limited like SMS was. Now it's a totally different thing.

About the same 2007, I have innovated a search engine on SMS called the Mobile SMS search engine. It was a mobile directory service where you could search for products and services from SMS on your phone (Smartphone and CDMA) lines and within 5 seconds or thereabout, anyone that offers that product would come be returned as SMS on your phone. The service worked on MTN, Airtel, Glo and Starcomms networks at that time.

This is just to remind you, that the journey of your life is a step at a time, be consistent, keep pushing, don't stop and one day, you will be celebrated.

Yesterday was an Independence day special edition, as Nigeria is celebrating its 63rd year of independence. This formed the conversation on our Export and Fintech show on Nigeria Info 99.3FM.
The show commenced with a foundation of how you can find joy and pride in the non-oil export sector of Nigeria.
As a start, the On Air Personality (OAP) and anchor Femi Obong-Daniels on the show drew our minds back to the days of Nigeria's independence, referencing the Cocoa house in Ibadan, Oyo State, being built from the profits arising from Cocoa exportation in 1965. At that time, this building was a source of joy and pride for many across Nigeria.
Our Export coach, Mr. Olaniyi Adeosun, also drew our attention to the beauties of the opportunities that export presented to us in the pre-80s. At a time, we had cars assembled by Peugeot Automobile of Nigeria (PAN) in Kaduna, Leyland assembling trucks in Ibadan, Oyo state, Styre too manufacturing typres and assembling trucks in Bauchi state, and of course, there was also a company called Sanusi brothers in Ikeja, manufacturing bicycle tyres at that time, and not to forget ANAMMCO manufacturing trucks, that was not even mentioned, that is in Enugu State.
The question is, are all hopes lost and gone? we say No. These opportunities and resources are still here with us. Suffices to say, that Non Oil export still has the capacity to bring you joy and pride, even 63 years after independence.
