Speaking of movies and how they've inspired me over time (see previous post), I remember when I got a job as ICT Relations Manager at a communications company a few years back. My first task was to show/present to the top management the Digital Road Map for the company as it related to the business goals of the company. This first thing I did was carry out an audit of their digital assets to determine where they were before I joined, where they currently are and where I planned on taking them to with Digital.

I had an idea of a scene from the Marvel Movie, that perfectly illustrated what I wanted to communicate with the audit results and so I adapted it to what you're seeing in this picture.

Movies have always been a major source of inspiration for me in my line of work. I owe a large part of my strategic and creative ideas over the years to movies that I've watched.

Today, I thought to share one of them. This one helped me visualize Neuro Marketing better.

About a year ago, February 2020 to be exact, I spoke to over 2,000 people about Social Media Marketing for SMEs at the SME Clinic hosted by Techpoint Africa.

Using an analogy I came with called "Social Media is an Event Place" I helped attendee business owners better understand how social media marketing really works and how they can leverage on it as a business.

So this happened a few days back on Silverbird TV, discussing the effect of the Twitter ban on businesses from the digital marketing agency stand point.

According to statista.com Nigeria has about 28 million internet users and Twitter is about the 6th ranked platform with just a little over 61% after WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook Messenger.

From my experience as a digital marketing comms strategist working with brands so far since the Twitter ban, it's really had no significant effect. We've just had to re-strategize. For some brands, it's even been a blessing in disguise as they've recorded slightly more engaging activity on other platforms they are present on as a result.

Your is an essential part of your Brand's identity. It involves "How" your brand communicates. It includes brand elements such as taglines and wording choices and is broken into tone of voice.

- Brand Language helps you find the words to say "who your brand is" and "what it stands for" while ensuring clear messaging.

- it helps to position your brand properly.

- it solidifies your brand identity and helps create a unique relationship with your audience, target market or customers.

A few hours ago, I got off a consultation session with a client in Taraba state who's business needs services.

He booked for an hour but ended up getting the benefit of 2hours. Why? Because I love what I do and that feeling is heightened when I come across business owners who are passionate, know their business and are quite precise about what they want.

All in all, he got value. And for that alone, I had a fulfilled day.

The second wave of the covid 19 pandemic is here already and might hit us (Nigeria) hard soon. Businesses and work places will be affected especially in Lagos. It's best to start making plans on how this may affect you and how you plan to adapt.

My advise? Think digital products and services... You must have heard this a thousand times but the difference now is that you're informed. The second wave is not catching you unaware so get to stepping!

No matter what you do, you can find a way to digitally monetize it. Here are a few pointers:

-- you can set up online trainings or e-learning courses and webinars.

-- you can develop and sell e-books, audio books, pre-recorded video lessons, informational pieces (like industry reports, manuals, or guides) etc.

You may also decide to learn new skills. Maybe even a new language cos seriously, why waste time to complain about the pandemic and the effects when you can use time to adapt to the new way of life? Make more money and Be better!
