Dear small business owner, clearly, there is so much to learn and do, to keep your business alive... but, you cannot kill yourself na.
Afterall, you didn't attend Harvard or some Ivy League school.
You jejely started your small business and now, someone expects you to become a business guru, overnight? What sort of crazy expectation is that? Abeg, let them mind demsef o.
..but wait; my business must thrive and survive. It means I have to apply all those strategies they talk about; whether or not I know them. So, i need help.
Topic for today: Do not fail to ask for help. You need it.
Failure to seek help is deemed one of the major reasons why businesses fail.
I call it 'Operation-use-other-people's-brain'. I am a master at the act. I am proud to say it. I do not deny it.
Ask your husband whether he would buy that moimoi for 200 Naira. Ask your househelp to buy 5 different types of local soap and tell you which works best. Ask your colleagues to taste your new soft drink mix and give feedback. Host a puff-puff and mineral party in your house and invite your friends in business, ask everyone their staff-related issues and how they solved it. Ask your kids teacher at school what percentage of children fail maths. Identify that friend who knows some good business strategy and ask for help.
Ask, ask, ask. Seek help. You honestly won't believe how much each one can know and help.
So, write that email, type that chat, call that friend, start using other people's brain. Guess what? It is free. Guess again? They are glad you asked. - Chioma Ifeanyi-Eze
See you at the top!
