I first met Dbanj in the JJC and 419 Squad space. He was his usual happy self, always cracking jokes, playing harmonica and bringing life to the bus when we travelled for shows. He was not officially in the group, but he added value, learned songs and performed with us. That is how he became part of the family.
Later there was a big issue about contracts. Many of us were not happy. We had a kind of town hall meeting and promised to speak up. By the next day most people went back. Only I actually left. Dbanj did not even have a contract, but he chose to stand with me. That loyalty meant a lot. From that day, our journey together became deeper and more serious.
