Test each spirit:
If I would advise you, read your bible by yourself and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal Jesus Christ Crucified as a Son of God and as a Son of Man to your own *new creation life* if you have *being born-again on Calvary's tree*.
There is no human being who is a prophet that is as accurate as the written word of God contained in the whole holy bible from Genesis to Revelation as it reveals only Jesus Christ Crucified (John 5:39).
Speak to those closest to you whom you see their lives reflecting *carriers of the new creation life in Christ Jesus* and they will encourage your faith even as they are being encouraged by your own faith also (Romans 1:11-12).
Prophecies are meant to confirm what God; Abbah Your Father has been telling you in your heart or through scriptural thoughts you have been perceiving in your mind but you ignored them or through the ministration of other preachers or people close to us.
Abbah is Your Father also *if you have genuinely believed the gospel of Jesus Christ Crucified*, you are not *a bastard*, hence He also speaks to you directly.
Prophecies can come instantly at the place of fellowships/meetings *without your prior knowledge of it directly form the Holy Spirit*, but it is not *every time* hence you should not be going about *searching for prophets everywhere*. Prophets or prophecies should be directed by the Holy Spirit to you in most times without you running after them *everywhere* but the most reliable and consistent prophecies is *opening your holy bible everyday and every moment you are less busy in each day, with an intentional planned progression (like reading from Matthew 1 today towards Matthew 2 tomorrow and continuously flowing in this direction each new day of our earthly existence) to relate with the GOD-HEAD (Father, Son and the Holy Spirit) in His *written and revealed word* while repeating those scriptural-words that touches you in prayers or songs and writing them down in your scripture-notebook or notepad and applying them in your actions as well as moments of making choices and taking every moment daily decisions.
This is what it means to grow in grace and the knowledge of Our Lord Jesus Christ Crucified whose new creation life we now carry within our mortal-bodies thus "But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen." (2 Peter 3:18)
The same person whose prophecy can be very accurate now can declare inaccurate prophecy in the next second just like Peter in this bible passage
"15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
20 Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.
21 From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.
22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.
23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men." (Matthew 16:15-23)
Ahitophel was a great prophet yet David always goes to the temple to verify each time he gives him counsel such that David was able to overcome him and the deceptive spirit that he yielded-to later in his lifetime thus
"And the counsel of Ahithophel, which he counselled in those days, was as if a man had enquired at the oracle of God: so was all the counsel of Ahithophel both with David and with Absalom."
(2 Samuel 16:23)........
"And Absalom and all the men of Israel said, The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel. For the Lord had appointed to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that the Lord might bring evil upon Absalom." (2 Samuel 17:14)
Even as we receive prophecies, we need not trust every prophet or prophecies every second no matter his/her history of accuracy *without asking the Holy Spirit first to confirm each declared prophecy* thus "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world." (1 John 4:1)
