Welcome to Remalex Hotels and Suites, where elegance reaches new heights and royalty is redefined. Nestled on Ring Road 3 in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Remalex exudes unmatched opulence and grandeur.
Design Rationale:
Our alluring culture of consistently delivering exceptional designs, creativity, simplicity, and uplifting emotions makes it a delight to present a unique concept and design direction for this project.
The breathtaking ambience of Remalex served as a great inspiration that influenced our decision to incorporate black and gold into the Remalex colour palette. This choice aims to evoke a sense of prestige and enhance the overall luxurious and sophisticated vibe of the brand voice and communication strategy.
For the logotype, we selected LondonTwo and Trinidad Neue SemiBold, then Montserrat for the body text font and then we modified some characters of the wordmark by slicing the finial creatively in order to distinguish it from the existing logo and balancing the letter setting while keeping the brandmark consistent across all touchpoints
Deliverables
Using strategy, psychology and creative thinking, we have successfully delivered the following deliverables:
Logo Redesign
Based on the brand identity design principles of adaptability, timelessness, usability and consistency and given the brand ideology of opulence, we redefined and redesigned the brandmark and introduced a fresh design system to give Remakex a pleasant and luxurious look. The refreshed identity was delivered in
reusable versions; CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator, SVG, PNG and JPEG. It is worth noting that we met various types and shapes of logos that failed to accurately represent the esteemed Remalex Hotels and Suites brand.
New Payoff Line
Crafting the new payoff line or slogan for Remalex; Remalex Hotels and Suites... the quintessential experience, was a key element of the brand strategy development process to establish a unified brand experience that exudes luxury.
Corporate Profiling
Development of the corporate company profile which highlights the Remalex story, Vision, Mission, Rooms Categories and Services further distinguished Remalex as a thoughtful brand. There is no doubt that no brand is without a unique story or philosophy and brand purpose.
Videography
The first Remalex corporate promotional video, which has been shared across various platforms, effectively represents a brand seeking to establish its presence in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, the city widely known for its peaceful and calming atmosphere in Nigeria. Through a meticulously crafted script and carefully done voice-over, our cinematic video shoot enhances the overall representation of the Remalex brand. Watch the 4k resolution here

Consultancy
To ensure adherence to brand standards, we provided guidance to internal staff on the use and management of brand assets. We also developed guiding principles and innovative methods for utilizing the brand materials we have provided. This strategy aims to maintain the brand's momentum even after our departure, in the absence of a retainer agreement.
Fun Facts
During our research, we discovered that a company based in La Paz, Bolivia uses the exact logo with the same font style. We had to recreate and tweak it before use to distinguish Remalex. This may be a result of the previous designer lifting an already existing logo from Google and delivering it to his/her client. Creative Designers should embark on extensive research before starting a brand development project.
Initially, an internal staff member could have used what appeared to be the hotel's registered name "RemalexHotels&SuitesLtd" to create an account on Instagram which was going to pose a registration duplication issue. However, it is worth mentioning that the name registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) does not have to be the same as the name used for marketing or trading of your brand, and Barinaada Joy can provide further clarification on this matter. For instance, Apple Incorporated is trading with just Apple.
Challenges
Because of the inconsistent policies of the Central Bank of Nigeria, we faced difficulties in paying for the hosting and domain of the website. This was mainly because Naira cards, including Mastercard, were blocked by the CBN. We had to use another country’s payment route. Additionally, the cost of the project was affected by the fluctuating forex rate, which increased by N50 per dollar just one night after we calculated our expenses.
Haha, we found it difficult to steer clear of the overused and arguably most abused term "LUXURY" in our society while describing Remalex, so instead we substitute it with "Opulence".
