An insight into 10 economic heavyweights indigenous to Ebonyi State:

1. High Chief Ifeanyi Odii: he's dubbed as the richest man in Ebonyi by a litany of his admirers. He's into real estate, maritime, ICT, manufacturing and entertainment. He is the CEO of Orient Group Ltd focusing on real estate, production and distribution of POP cement and varieties of industrial chemicals. He's a sophisticated projects contractor. He's in his late 40s and comes from Isu, Onicha LGA.

2. Dr Sir Edward Okereke Nkwegu: he's one of the earliest economic heavyweights from Ebonyi State. He's the chairman of EDON Nig. One special feature about the above listed persons is their noiselessness. They have, but one, produced millionaires and billionaires. For example, EDON produced Billionaire Christian Asaga Nwali, while Christian himself has produced men doing well in their fields of Architecture and Engineering. Baby Oku produced a man popularly called Peaceman who's a millionaire businessman. Chief Odii has also nurtured talents from Ebonyi and empowered many including this writer, building modern houses for 134 families in different parts of Ebonyi State in 2020 and 2021, providing succour to many.

Of course, there are many other silent millionaires and billionaires from Ebonyi not captured here. These ten are a preface to the long list of economic heavyweights from Ebonyi State in different parts of the world. This is using this opportunity to appeal that they do more in the areas of business mentorship and empowerment so as to reduce the headcount of pitiful poor people in, and from Ebonyi. They should also invest a part of their wealth in Ebonyi and contribute to community development as that is part of the efforts at opening the rural areas for advanced economic prospects.
