WHAT IF HE WHO REMAINS WAS NEVER REALLY DEFEATED? 👀

We thought Loki defeated He Who Remains.

But what if that was exactly what he wanted?

Think about it.

He Who Remains discovered the Multiverse. His variants eventually went to war with each other, creating the Multiversal War. He unleashed Alioth, ended the war, and created the TVA to control branching timelines and prevent dangerous Kang variants from ever being born.

The TVA exists outside normal time.

And He Who Remains sits at the Citadel at the End of Time, watching the entire timeline like a game board.

Then Loki asks the question that changes everything:

“So… it’s all a game?”

And He Who Remains doesn't seem surprised that Loki thinks that way.

Because maybe it was.

Look at what happens after his death.

Sylvie kills him.

The Sacred Timeline begins branching.

Loki starts time-slipping.

Victor Timely becomes essential to the Loom.

The Loom fails.

Loki eventually takes control of the entire branching Multiverse and gives every timeline the right to exist.

And here's the part that makes this theory terrifying:

What if He Who Remains knew Loki would do all of it?

Maybe the Loom was never meant to permanently solve the problem.

Maybe Sylvie was never simply a prisoner who escaped his control.

Maybe even Loki's final choice was part of the path He Who Remains had already prepared.

He gives Loki two choices.

Loki refuses both.

Instead, Loki chooses something He Who Remains couldn't openly choose himself:

Free will for everyone.

And that's exactly what changes the game.

Because Loki doesn't just save one Sacred Timeline.

He allows the branches to live.

The timelines that were created by the Avengers' time travel don't simply disappear because the original Avengers returned the Infinity Stones.

Those branches still existed.

Steve's decision created another reality.

Other choices created other realities.

And now Loki is literally holding the entire branching Multiverse together.

So suddenly, the question isn't:

“Did Loki cause the Multiverse to collapse?”

It's:

“Was Loki manipulated into creating the Multiverse that would eventually need to be saved?”

And THAT changes how we look at He Who Remains.

He couldn't prevent another Multiversal War forever.

So perhaps his real strategy wasn't to stop the war.

It was to control the pieces until the next game began.

Kang variants.

Victor Timely.

The TVA.

Loki.

The branches.

And eventually…

Doctor Doom.

If Doom becomes the next great threat to the Multiverse, then He Who Remains may have indirectly created the exact conditions that allowed Doom's story to happen.

And now we have an insane potential paradox:

He Who Remains manipulated Loki into preserving the Multiverse…

while Loki's choice may have created the very Multiverse that Doom will eventually try to control.

So maybe Loki wasn't the cause.

Maybe Loki was the piece He Who Remains needed to move.

And if that's true…

Loki's throne wasn't the end of He Who Remains' plan.

It was the beginning of the next one. 🐊

The real mastermind may have lost the battle…

because he already knew exactly how the next game would be played.
