THE PAIN BEHIND THE SMILE
We walk past people every day who are breaking inside—quietly.
That colleague who always says “I’m fine”?
She cried in the bathroom this morning.
That guy making everyone laugh?
He’s not sure how he’ll feed his family tonight.
We’ve learned to smile through pain. To hide.
Because society doesn’t always welcome honesty.
But what if we listened deeper?
What if we checked in, not just checked online?
What if we made it safe to say, “I’m not okay”?
Let’s stop praising strength that’s built on silence.
Let’s care beyond the smile.
Someone you know needs more than a “hi” today. Be that person who sees and stays.
