In yesterday's post i discussed the importance of having a website maintenance plan and why you need to have one for your website.

In today's post,

I'll be listing out what you should expect to see from a typical website maintenace plan and also what is involved.

A good website maintenance plan will have a minimum of the following services,

1. Website page, content and link updates...

2. Server security maintenance and fixes...

3. Backup Plans and Recovery

4. Site Monitoring for downtime

5. CMS, theme and plugin updates

6. Bug fixes and compatibility/performance issues.

These are just the basic areas covered in a website maintenance plan.

So, unless your company have an internal IT department that include experienced website developers and designers,

a maintenance plan might be the best option as an effort to keep a website correctly maintained.

A maintenance plan will no doubt have long term cost savings and save you time.

A bug that is ignored eventually will snowball and cause significant damage and worst-case scenario;

"why do you build your websites with wordpress?"

To answer this question. i'll outline 5 reasons why i use wordpress to design and build my client's websites

1. With wordpress it's easy for a client or anyone who doesnt have a technical background to make content updates or changes on the website, so you wont have to pay someone to each time you want to make a little change.

2. With wordpress you have complete control over the design. One funny thing alot of people say is that "All wordpress websites look the same and you can't customize it" which is false. You can build completely bespoke websites just take a look at the ones built by me.

3. Do you know that over 50% of the websites on the web today are built with wordpress? well now you know. And this simple fact that a huge number of websites are built on wordpress ensures that any issues you encounter while building a website will wordpress, you're sure to find answers or solutions to that issue when you search on the web.

4. Wordpress works with (almost) anything.
