History has it that Benue North-East senatorial District popularly known as zone "A" within Benue state covers seven local government areas which include; Katsina-ala, Logo, Ukum, Konshisha, Vandeikya, Kwande and Ushongo. The headquarters of Benue North-East Senatorial District is Katsina-ALa town located in Ikyurav-Tiev, Katsina-ala local government council.

Since the inception of the administration of senator Gabriel Torwua Suswam, the senator representing Benue North East senatorial district, the people of Zone "A" have witnessed great peace, freedom, better healthcare delivery, more educational opportunities, infrastructural development, improved rural development, increased involvement of the populace in the decision-making process and in a most simplified phrase; “the assurance of life more abundant for all and sundry.”

Whereas the problems which faced the zone before the arrival of this administration were many, Senator Gabriel Torwua Suswam held out the hope for their solutions and has thus practically doused all fears and the associated tensions.

The senator's peace-oriented governance has metamorphosed into the many dividends of democracy which include; the Security of lives and property, infrastructural development, empowerment, healthcare delivery, electrification of rural areas, installation of solar plants and transformers, etc.

The wisdom this man called "Avalumun u Tiv" uses to govern Zone "A" is not only unique but rare. So many people have crossed his red line and given him reasons to fight but lo and behold, he does the opposite and leaving God and nature to treat them in the way they deserve.

This is practically to tell you that Dr Gabriel Torwua Suswam is a peace-loving leader. A man who doesn’t want trouble or looks for one no matter what comes his way.

Dr. Suswam has brought most of the political elites and juggernauts in Zone "A" and Benue state at large together, to work harmoniously with each and every one of them. He has even gone ahead to settle individual differences that people have among themselves which has drastically paved way for a favourable atmosphere of good governance.

In the past, most political elites and juggernauts weren’t in good terms for a long period until Suswam took the mantle of leadership and things changed. Today, most of them leave peacefully and can interact with one another without any rancor. This is indeed a good reason to believe that true governance exists. The peaceful administration of this accomplished administrator and legislator, Distinguished Senator Gabriel Torwua Suswam has truly delivered the dividends of democracy to Benue North East senatorial district.

Dr Suswam has reclaimed the Sankera geopolitical zone from the hands of certain elements who terrorised the zone thereby returning calm and relative peace to the zone which was almost losing its pride of place giving security challenges.

Today, zone "A" indigenes have witnessed with their very eyes the developmental projects and security exploits of Senator Suswam. His good intentions for the betterment of Benue North East senatorial district are not in doubt.

One of the most expensive and essentially pivotal services provided by government to its citizens is security. Dr Suswam has done extremely very well to ensure zone "A" indigenes and other residents of the zone enjoy relative peace and security in the zone.

People with such rare qualities are difficult to find in this present time. Senator Suswam has shown that there are sincere and upright men in power who can be trusted and relied upon.

Good reason and conscience demands that you support a man that is doing well. Dr Gabriel Torwua Suswam has done excellently well in all sectors despite the security challenges that have confronted the zone before his emergence as a senator of the zone in 2019 and i urge all and sundry to support him towards his reelection ambition come 2023.

Senator Gabriel Torwua Suswam as a senator representing Benue North East senatorial district has proved his mettle. The social media brouhaha by some members of the opposition is just the handiwork of few disgruntled elements who never meant well for the zone. Those attacking the senator should desist from cheap political blackmail and subterfuge and channel their issues, if any legitimate one exists, to the appropriate quarters as posterity watches.

It's on the basis of the above mentioned facts that the workaholic Coordinator of Sankera Youth Alliance For Suswam 2023 (SAS) Logo local government Chapter, the Obi Cubana1 of Sankera, the award winning Youth Friendly Ambassador of Sankera and the Man wey Sabi of Sankera, Chief Hon Ude David Hassan who has Commended Senator Suswam for his humility, intelligence and wisdom and good leadership style in the zone is appealing to all well meaning son's and daughters of Sankera and zone A as a whole to come out en-masse to support their son Dr Gabriel Torwua Suswam to enable him actualise his second term ambition come 2023 to attract more dividends of democracy in the zone.

Scholars of different field of learning defines leadership differently but I really like the way John C Maxwell defines leadership. According to John C Maxwell, a leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way. Irrespective of how one defines a leader, he or she can prove to be a difference maker between success and failure.

A good leader is he who has a futuristic vision and knows how to turn his ideas into real-world success stories as been demonstrated by a two times former house of representatives member of Sankera (Katsina-ala,UKum and Logo) federal constituency from 1999-2007, the immediate past governor of Benue State from 2007-2015 and a serving senator representing Benue North East senatorial district, Distinguished senator Gabriel Torwua Suswam Tingir Dom Agya Wa-ave Ikyum.

The greatest task in our contemporary society is finding a trustworthy leader who knows the way, goes the way, shows the way, and has a futuristic vision and knows how to turn his ideas into real-world success stories that will better the lives of his followers of which H.E Gabriel Torwua Suswam has already possessed the above mentioned qualities hence the need for the people of Benue North-East senatorial district to pay him again by re-electing him come 2023.

Having Gabriel Torwua Suswam in zone A alone is a blessing considering his quality leadership skills and outstanding performances which cut across different sectors of the economy.

The ingenuity in social engineering exhibited by Senator Gabriel Torwua Suswan in handling the security situation in the Sankera geopolitical zone, which has brought about relative peace in the zone and considers this trait as a major panacea required in resolving the current security challenges plaguing the country.

The sterling leadership qualities and developmental strides of Senator Gabriel Torwua Suswam in terms of infrastructural, healthcare delivery, education, agriculture, security, women and Youths empowerment, social welfare and justice system has contributed immensely to the well-being of the people of Benue North East senatorial district.

The massive rural electrification, installation of transformers and solar power plants by H.E Gabriel Torwua Suswam has reached all parts of the zone while more of such projects are on-going. His achievements in less than three years are enormous. He has done very well in all sectors and the people of Benue North-East are not surprised he was given the name, “Mr Infrastructure" by the people of the state as a result of his tremendous achievements when he served for eight years as the executive governor of Benue.

Following these tremendous achievements recorded within his short stay in the office as the senator representing Zone "A", the people of the zone are now yearning for him to continue with his quality leadership come 2023 as he has met their expectations and needs for the first time in the history of the zone.

The Benue born legal luminary, philanthropist, humanitarian, administrator and legislator, Distinguished senator Gabriel Torwua Suswam will execute more projects if re-elected because of his passion to make the people happy.

YOU'LL HEAR OF MY BURIAL, NOT JUST DEATH - OBADIAH ORKOR
..DEBUNKS DEATH RUMOUR, SPEAKS ON FINAL WISH

One of the most prolific Tiv traditional oral poets of all time remains, perhaps, Obadiah Kenhemen Orkor.

Orkor, who hails from Mbayengeijir, in Wukari local government area of Taraba State has maintained that he does not know his exact date of birth but that he was born around 1957.

His secular artistic career spanned close to three decades, from 1970 when he came to limelight to 1997, when he converted to Pentecostal Christianity.

Thereafter, he has been as prolific in churning out sacred songs and music, close to as much as when he performed in the secular arena.

He remains one of the few artistes that have made outstanding marks both in secular and sacred songs and music.

Two days ago, he called me to debunk the rumor that he was dead.

He told me that he currently has health challenges including waist pain arising from a diseased prostrate which has compelled him to be undergoing treatment in and out of the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, in Makurdi.

But that he has not died.

I had the privilege of an extensive formal and recorded interview with him at Jootar in Ukum local government area where he pastors Abundant Life Church, on 25th August, 2011.

Ten years later, I updated the interview when we met in Makurdi on December 22nd, 2021.

He reiterated to me on phone yesterday that his last wish is a quick burial after his demise.

"I don't want people to hear that I had died, I want them to be informed that I died and was buried because I should be laid to rest immediately after death," he insisted.

Orkor who told me that he was discipled for three years after his conversion, revealed that he has read the Bible from Genesis to revelation several times.

Indeed, he remains a fanatical adherent to what the Bible says, as literal as it is practicable.

One dramatic example is his separation from the many wives he had married and had several children with, and reunion with his first wife who had separated from him and had 10 children for another man.

Details of that strange development shall be reported in the full interview another day.

The artiste maintained that Christians should be guided on death and burial from the Acts of the Apostles as found in the Bible, especially, as reflected in the quick burial of Ananias and Saphira.

In our telephone conversation last night, Orkor reiterated his directive to his children on his death and funeral which he explained in the updated interview.

"I have told my children that I want my death to glorify God. When a father or parent dies, the house is usually crowded with people in the name of giving them the last respects. In my case I don't want the respect for myself, but my death should rather glorify God."

"God planned that when someone dies, he should be buried immediately. The very day I die and they confirm that I am dead, there is no other program after that. They should take my body to where I'll be buried."

"If God gives us the grace to return to our place in Taraba, thy should take me back home and bury. But even now that we are yet to return, we have an old place which our Mbayenge kinsmen met and mapped out and gave to us, our great grand father had settled there. They should dig a grave there immediately. Even my casket, they themselves can construct. That's to say they shouldn't go looking for luxuries. If they join one wood with another, a casket has been formed already, they should lay me in it and put in a simple grave."

"I don't want a wake keep, I don't want any embalming injection, I don't want to be kept in the mortuary. Once I die, I should be buried. After burying me, they should carry my phone, I have already told my son, Myom, that he should remove my SIM card and give to this one, he should give my phone to my eldest child."

"After burying me, that is when they'll start picking the names of my friends from the phone and SIM and informing them that 'we are sorry to inform you that our father is no more alive but we have buried him. He had instructed us that if he dies, he shouldn't be embalmed, so we have done as he said, we buried him.' That is what I have told them."

"It is not natural, keeping dead bodies, embalming is also not natural. Moreso that during the wake and on the day of burial things happen that in our entire existence, that is what hurts God the most. What I am saying is not a joke, in this our part of the world, what hurts God most is our burial rites."

"On the day of burial, even Christians drink alcohol, commit fornication and adultery, and there is general lawfulness. It might even be a Bishop that will die, they must drink alcohol there, and they must fornicate, commit adultery, excrete indiscriminately. No matter what kind of Bishop, these things must happen, and because of this, your death hurts God. So as for me, let my death glorify God. Once I die, I should be buried quickly so that people do not have opportunity to commit indignities that will disrespect God, there."

The immediate past Senior Special adviser to the former governor Gabriel Torwua Suswam, Ph.D, on "Revenue and Taxation", Honourable Edward Mkende has on behalf his family, friends, well-wishers and political associates sent his birthday message to the Proprietor MACE Academy group of schools (Makurdi Academy Centre of Excellence Nursery, Primary and Secondary Schools Makurdi), Dr. Clement Mnenga Orgem on the occasion of his birthday anniversary.
