We almost cancelled the whole conference two weeks before it happened.
I don't talk about this much, but I think it's time.
I remember sitting down that night asking myself if we should just postpone everything. Push it to another year or wait until things were "more settled."
But something in me said no. Too many people were already looking forward to it. Too many young entrepreneurs had already told their friends they were coming. Too many speakers had already rearranged their schedules for us.
So we regrouped, cut costs where we could. Made calls we didn't want to make. Some of our team members contributed personally, quietly, without asking for recognition. That is the part that still moves me when I think about it.
By the time the conference held, nobody in that hall knew how close we came to not having it at all.
That is building something that matters. It rarely goes the way you planned, but if the vision is strong enough, you find a way.
