In a bold move to revive the education sector in Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, the Executive Chairman, Chief Barr. Vincent Nemieboka, has declared a state of emergency on all dilapidated school buildings across the LGA.
This decisive action is aimed at addressing the poor state of learning facilities in several communities by renovating abandoned and defaced school structures, while also constructing new modern buildings that will provide pupils and students with a safe, conducive, and comfortable learning environment.
Under his administration, education has remained a top priority, as he continues to demonstrate unwavering commitment towards ensuring that every child and student in Ogu/Bolo has access to quality education and the opportunity to reach their full potential.
As a leader passionate about academic excellence and youth development, Chief Barr. Vincent Nemieboka has continued to invest heavily in the educational growth of Ogu/Bolo students through several impactful initiatives, including:
โ
Payment of accumulated school fees and outstanding bills for students in tertiary institutions.
โ
Grant of โฆ1 million each to Ogu/Bolo students currently studying at the Nigerian Law School.
โ
Reward of โฆ1 million each to indigent students from Ogu/Bolo who graduate with First Class honours in tertiary institutions.
โ
Sponsorship of Ogu/Bolo students at Sharkins Maritime Academy for a two-year Diploma programme in Nautical Science and Marine Engineering. Each studentโs training costs approximately โฆ14 million, with full sponsorship covering tuition, accommodation, feeding, and other logistics by the council.
โ
Provision of โฆ16 million educational support to primary and secondary school students through the Liberation Club Educational Programme.
โ
Plans are already underway for the rollout of bursary payments to all Ogu/Bolo students in tertiary institutions.
These initiatives reflect the Chairmanโs vision of building a brighter future through education, empowering young people, and ensuring that no student is left behind due to financial challenges or poor infrastructure.
Indeed, Chief Barr. Vincent Nemieboka is not just rebuilding schools, he is rebuilding dreams, restoring hope, and laying a solid foundation for a better future for the people of Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area.
