Seven things if you have an ulcer.
All free. All today.
1. Get tested for H. pylori before anything else.
Stool antigen or breath test.
Most ulcers are caused by that infection, and it is curable.
Everything else on this list is secondary to that one.
2. Stop the milk.
It soothes for twenty minutes and then makes your stomach produce more acid than before you drank it.
You have been treating the pain with the thing extending it.
3. Look at what you take for headache and body pain.
Ibuprofen, diclofenac, the tablets sold at every bus stop.
They strip the layer of mucus protecting your stomach wall.
If you have an ulcer and you take those weekly, you are undoing everything else.
Ask for an alternative.
4. Rest the gut instead of eating more often.
Everybody tells you to eat smaller meals more often.
That keeps your stomach working all day, and a lining cannot repair while it is being asked to process something every two hours.
Give it a real gap, and take carrot and cucumber in water through it.
5. Stop eating three hours before you lie down.
Lying down with food in you sends acid where the lining is thinnest.
6. Cabbage.
Raw or lightly cooked, eat it daily while you are healing.
There is real work behind this one, it is cheap, and almost nobody does it.
7. Alcohol, drink none, while it is healing.
Not less. None.
It dissolves the mucus layer directly and there is no amount that helps.
That is seven.
Now do two.
