The Day I Was Glad I Came to Church 😇 | Anniversary Day 2 Challenge

I have had countless days like this. In fact, every Wednesday and Sunday is a breath of fresh air for me because I know that somehow, all my struggles become lighter the moment my Daddy starts speaking.

But I'll share the most recent one, which happened last Wednesday.

I'm a final-year student, and as you can imagine, there's a lot on my plate. Things had gotten so overwhelming that I felt like I could barely breathe. I was beginning to fear that I might actually fail because I couldn't bring myself to do anything. The assignments were piling up, and on top of that, I had my final-year project to deal with.

Then, during my Daddy's ministration, something shifted.

The fear began to lift off my shoulders, and I received clear instructions from God.

Today, I've sorted out the major problems, and I'm well on my way to completing my final year with flying colours. 😇

Sometimes, all you need is to plug into God and receive His Word.

God can do the same for you through any of our sermons.

And guess what? Our anniversary is just a few days away! 🎉

Don't miss it. Come expecting God to speak to you too. ❤️

I was scared of coming to school because I had many dependencies that were not Christ. I felt like if I left my location, I would fall into addiction, become wayward, or start chasing worldly pleasures. But God had other plans for me. 😁

I finally came to school, and God first caught me through my roommate. Afterwards, school became slightly lonely because it felt like my roommate and I were the only ones chasing the God-life.

So I prayed. I asked God to lead me to young people who were genuinely chasing Him.

And that was how Faros Global Church, then Light Carriers Outreach, found me. 😇

I found a fellowship of young people like me who were doing great things for God—healing the sick, prophesying accurately, preaching with wisdom, and simply mirroring Christ like it was nothing.

At that moment, I knew: this was my church. 😇

Since then, I have become planted, and I have allowed God to use me in this house too.

Being part of this church has helped me advance in both my professional and spiritual life. I got my first international job from a design I created for my church. My first speaking engagement and invitation to perform also came through the church.

The words of God from the mouth of my Daddy, Apostle Favour Michael, have helped me come out of mediocrity and step into the identity Christ has freely given me.

I am genuinely a different person today.

I thank God for my church, my Apostle, and my Oikos—my family. I honestly wouldn't have asked for anything better. 😇🙏

P.S. We are turning 3 in a few days! 🎉

Don't miss our anniversary. And if you aren't around, you can join us live on YouTube.

God bless you. ❤️

THE PROBLEM WITH CHRISTIAN RELIGION

"There are people whose way of life and reasoning are very archaic simply because it's what their pastor or man of God said. They hardly think for themselves and use 'church' to cover up everything."

This was the exact statement a lady sent to me after I responded to her post where she claimed that "churchy Christians are usually the worst people."

I pondered on her words, and this was my response:

The problem with many people is that they have been taught to see Christianity as a religion rather than a life in Christ. As a result, they are driven by the fear of hell instead of the freedom God demonstrated through His love.

They are often taught not to question God, but that isn't consistent with Scripture. Even Jesus—the perfect revelation of God—was questioned repeatedly by His disciples, yet He never ignored their questions. Instead, He answered them with patience and truth (Matthew 13:10–17). Since Jesus is the exact representation of God's nature (Hebrews 1:3), we can confidently say that God is not intimidated by sincere questions, just as a loving father welcomes the curiosity of his child.

Beyond that, Christianity was never meant to be about blindly following your pastor. It is about following your pastor as he follows Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1). But if you do not know Christ's nature and character for yourself, how can you discern whether the man claiming to represent Him truly does?

This is one of the reasons I continually thank God for my father, Apostle Favour Michael. He has taught us to understand the true nature of God, and he consistently encourages us to verify everything he teaches through the Scriptures. That approach has produced believers who are grounded in sound doctrine while remaining relevant and effective in society. My brother, Ugochukwu Ngwu, and I are living examples of this.

Yes, we are "churchy," but our churchiness reflects Christ rather than mere religious tradition. We pursue excellence in every sphere of influence because we know our Father is an excellent God, and His very life flows through us.

The Church is not a place that confines people to mediocrity; it is a training ground that equips God's children to influence and serve the world with excellence.

If you haven't found a church that challenges you to know Christ more deeply and become more like Him, I'd love to invite you to join our Faros Global Church family. If you're not in Owerri, you can worship with us online, and you can also access our sermons on Telegram via .

Trust me when I say this: you're one sermon away from discovering the true nature of God and the beauty of becoming His Children.

Did you know that Jesus did not teach the Father how to love? The Father is Love Himself. Walk with me... 🚶🚶🚶

Till today, many people still have the notion that God is an angry being, always looking for an opportunity to destroy the earth over the slightest gbégé (Yoruba slang for trouble). They imagine that every time He's about to act, Jesus steps in with the marks of His sacrifice and says:

Jesus: Father! Please remember My sacrifice and forgive them.

Then the Father replies:

God: Chai! If no be because of you, I for don kpai everybody for this planet by now. Abeg help me warn them o. My blood dey hot!

Funny as it sounds, many people genuinely see God this way.

But is that really what the Scriptures reveal? Let's find out.

«John 3:16 — "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son..."»

«1 John 4:8 — "God is love."»

«John 16:27 — "For the Father himself loveth you..."»

«John 17:23 — "...that the world may know that... thou hast loved them, as thou hast loved me."»

When you read these verses, you discover a truth that changes everything.

Jesus did not come to teach the Father how to love. The Father is Love Himself. Jesus came to reveal the Father's heart—to show humanity what God has always been like.

The Law and the Prophets pointed toward God's nature, but they could not fully reveal the depth of His love. So God came Himself in Christ to put His love on display.

Hebrews 1:3 tells us that Jesus is the express image of the Father, and John 1:1 declares that the Word was God. Then John 1:14 says, "The Word became flesh and dwelt among us."

Put these passages together, and the picture becomes clear: Jesus perfectly reveals the Father because He is the eternal Word of God made flesh. To see Jesus is to see what the Father is like (John 14:9).

When we truly understand this, it changes everything.

We stop relating to God as frightened servants waiting for our next punishment and begin living as beloved sons and daughters who are fully loved by their Father.

The Gospel is not about Jesus convincing an angry Father to love us. It is about a loving Father sending His Son because He already loved us.
