POLITICAL WARDS & POLLING UNITS IN OYAN, ODO-OTIN LGA, OSUN STATE.
For LGA administrative expediency, Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State is made up of 15 Political Wards and 121 Polling Units, all spread across the towns and villages in the local area.
Ward simply means an administrative division of a town or community that typically elects and it's been represented by a Councilor.
Polling Unit is an assigned place where members of a community can register to vote and be voted for.
Oyan, being a major town in the present Odo-Otin LGA, is made up of two(2) political wards and eighteen (18) polling units.
The wards include:
1. Ward 14 - Oloyan/Elemoso/Eesa
2. Ward 15 - Osolo/Oparin/Ola
WARD 14 - OLOYAN/ELEMOSO/EESA
There are 9 polling units under this ward and they are situated in the following areas in Oyan:
1. Saint Peters African Primary School, Oyan.
2. Ajibope Hall, Opp. C.A.C, Oyan
3. Oja-Oba Market Square, Oyan
4. Onile's Compound, Oyan
5. Alagbede Abutu's Compound, Oyan
6. Sure Barber’s Shop, Oyan
7. Elemoso Isale Compound, Oyan
8. Eesa's Compound, Oyan
9. Obitikun/Oluoko areas, Oyan.
WARD 15 - OSOLO/OPARIN/OLA
There are also 9 polling units under this ward and they are located in the following areas in Oyan:
1. Owode Market Square, Oyan
2. N.U.D. Primary School, Oyan
3. Arogun Oparin's Compound, Oyan
4. Aade's Compound, Oyan
5. Jehovah Witness Primary School, Oke-Odo Oyan.
6. Lakolu's Compound, Oyan
7. Saint Paul's Primary School, Oke-Odo Oyan
8. C.A.C Primary School, Oke-Odo Oyan
9. White House, Gbelewade, Oke Odo, Oyan
All indigenes and residents of Oyan City must know and understand this political arrangement.
We call on everyone to go to their respective polling units on Saturday to:
=> Vote peacefully – Respect the rights of every citizen to cast their ballot freely.
=> Reject provocation – Do not be drawn into acts of violence or disorder.
=> Protect the process – Allow electoral officials to do their work without interference.
