BREAKING: ABDUCTED ANAMBRA BUSINESS TYCOON JEZCO REGAINS FREEDOM

Chief Sir Joseph Ebere Ezeokafor, popularly known as Jezco, has regained his freedom after days in the hands of his abductors, bringing a huge sigh of relief to his family, friends and business associates.

The septuagenarian businessman and chairman of Jezco Group of Companies was reportedly abducted in the early hours of Tuesday while travelling to a prayer ground in Awka, Anambra State.

In a Saturday update, Facebook user Fred Chukwuelobe reported that Ezeokafor was released near the boundary between Enugu and Anambra States, around Ebenebe, near Awka, before a family member arrived late at night to pick him up.

The dramatic release came after reports that the abductors had established contact with the businessmanโ€™s family and allegedly demanded a staggering N700 million ransom, later raising the demand to N1.5 billion.

As of the time of the report, however, it remained unclear whether any ransom was eventually paid or the exact circumstances that led to his release.

A close family member reportedly confirmed the development, expressing immense joy and relief following the businessmanโ€™s safe return.
