Two days ago, when Mr. Andrew and Mrs. Victoria met; while they were having their own chapter that very evening, Peter was in a serious clash with three of the six masquerades. The masquerades had chased someone in the market and one among the three bumped into Peter laying waste the perishables he had brought to the village evening market to sell. Away from the fact that this accident will cost him everything for the day because he had just arrived at the market and consequently had made no sales, the very masquerade that bumped into him turned back with sporadic lashes on him claiming that Peter had deliberately stood on the way. This act seriously angered Peter, yet in the mix of this clear oppression, Peter was trying to explain and in the course of preventing more lashes, he held the cane. On seeing this act of holding the cane by Peter, the onlookers in the market exclaimed in shock because it is an abomination to resist or fight back when faced with any treatment from the masquerades as such an act of resistance is tantamount to fighting the King himself. The other two masquerades turned in response to the people’s shouts to see the seeming struggle between Peter and one of the masquerades, they ran back to the spot and from different directions, there were several lashes on Peter. He was in their midst, and they would not even let him run even as he tried. At some point, Peter began to fight back and to the dismay of the onlookers, he overpowered them collecting the cane from one of them and began whipping them and suddenly the three masquerades ran away. With so much rage from the goods he had lost and the pain from the lashes, he went home with the things the masquerades had left while running. On Mrs. Victoria's arrival, as she walked into the house, she saw her son sitting in the living room so unusual, and on seeing the things he was holding, she knew there was a problem. Before she could find out from him what had happened, there was a knock on the door, and before she could take a step to open the door, the fellow knocking opened the door and walked in and started talking with so much authority and conviction saying...
